Employee Asks For Legal Advice After Getting Stuck Inside Restaurant At Work And Their Boss Threatening Them Not To Call 911

At any company and business, the safety and well-being of employees must be the top priority. If the companies fail to ensure the safety of their employees at work, then people should definitely reconsider working for them. Recently, Reddit user Zealousideal-Ebb-481 shared their story involving a similar issue and asked for legal advice. After finishing their shift, they closed the restaurant, and a problem occurred. The gate door didn't operate to open and locked this employee inside.
After trying to open the gate for quite a time, the employee called their boss. Thought that their boss could come down and do something like calling a locksmith or door tech or someone, but the boss didn't. Instead, the boss' response was rather shocking and ridiculous: “My boss made it very clear that I am *not* to call the fire department as they will ruin the door, and they will be here first thing in the morning.” So, the employee decided not to expect anything from the boss and called 911, with the fear of being fired, of course.
