Do you remember Mowgli, who grows up in the wild and makes friends with animals in "The jungle book"? We've thought that the movie is transformed from a fiction novel and that such a story can never happen in real life. But there's also a girl famous for the enchanting pictures she took with the wildlife from a young age.
Meet Tippi Degré, a French actress who grew up among animals in the wild. Her parents, Sylvie Robert and Alain Degré were Namibia-based photographers. When they gave birth to her in an African savannah in 1990, they decided to bring up the daughter there.

"She was a happy little girl. She lived in the wilderness until she was ten years old—just the three of us, along with all the animals. We didn’t have much contact with other people," Sylvie remembered his daughter in her childhood.
However, raising the child in the wild required a lot of attention and an extreme level of parental protection.

“Many farmers in the area are taking care of some orphaned animals, and we were used to them coming close. They have become almost domesticated or very familiar to people, and that’s why Tippi could get close to them,” added Sylvie.

In every photo shoot, they kept a close eye on Tippi to ensure her safety while the girl was playing with her animal friends. And the fact that Tippi’s parents were professional photographers quickly became evident in her photos. The pictures perfectly depicted the strong bond between Tippi and the wildlife.

In 2000, the girl moved back to Paris with her parents after ten years of living in her jungle home. She has been on her business trips back to the savannah six times.
Now, 27 years old, Tippi still has a special love for African can wildlife. She has published a book called "My Book of Africa" including her childhood pictures with animals here. Please read more about the book here.
