Completing a movie’s script is usually left to the behind-the-scenes team, including scriptwriters and directors, but actors have also the right to rise their voices to change something that does not seem to them. It is fact that many actors become so passionate about what goes on in the script, they want to get involved and make their own changes.

#1 Elizabeth Olsen insisted on the canon costume in WandaVision

The creators didn’t want her to wear her canon costume which was associated with the X-Men mutants. The actress’s first chance to wear this costume was on the Halloween episode of WandaVision. Elizabeth took this chance and insisted on wearing this costume in the series.

#2 Maya Hawke convinced the creators of Stranger Things to make her character gay

Maya Hawke had a bold decision, making her character gay because she felt that Robin couldn’t fall in love with Steve. Then the character bravely came out to her friends. Thanks to Maya, we have a moving scene and some misunderstanding between the characters in the next season.

#3 Matthew Macfadyen added an important touch to the romantic scene in Pride and Prejudice

Matthew Macfadyen’s idea was Mr. Darcy first takes Elizabeth Bennet’s hand and the scene became one of the most touching moments of the film. The director agreed with the opinion and asked the cameraman to make additional shots, focusing on their hands.

#4 Chris Hemsworth insisted on having short hair in Thor: Ragnarok

Many might not know that Thor’s new hair wasn’t scripted in “Thor: Ragnarok”. Spending 2 hours in the make-up room to make his wig look good made Hemsworth extremely tired so he suggested changing his character’s look.

#5 Russel Crowe came up with a way to make his character in Gladiator more believable

The scenes where Emperor Marcus Aurelius asks Maximus to describe his home didn’t originally involve in the script. Russel Crowe came up with an idea, depicting his own farm in Australia. It made the scene look more convincing and showed a new side of Crowe’s character.

Costume designerS wanted Doctor to wear elegant shoes that matched his striped suit but the actor had a different idea, letting his character wear old, beat-up Converse.

Initially, there was no scene in which Emma Thompson cried, thinking her husband cheat on her, but it was improvised by the actress. The actress was supposed to come up to her room, turn on a record, and show an emotional response.

At that time, Matt Smith portraying Visery’s brother Came up to the King and helped him put the crown back on. It was totally improvised but showed that the brothers were at peace again.

Zoë Kravitz demanded to have long nails with polish to make her character look like the claws of a wild animal, beautiful and scary at the same time.
