7 Times Actors Changed The Scripts, But Actually Made The Movie Even Better

Some actors and actresses are such a perfect fit for their parts that it is difficult to picture anyone else performing them. All of this is possible because the actors not only do what the director of the film instructs them to do, but they also collaborate with the director in the film's production and are not afraid to improvise.
We recalled a few instances in which actors and actresses contributed something to the filming process, and the movie was better due to their contributions. In the additional section at the conclusion, you will learn how the scriptwriters were inspired to write a cult finale to a complete series season by a slip of the tongue that happened accidentally.

After some consideration, Emma Watson gave her character more freedom of movement. So that Belle could ride a horse and dance without restriction, the actress refused to wear corsets during filming. Her outfits were always airy and lovely and never constrained her performance.

2. Gerard Butler

That King Leonidas would suddenly yell, "This is Sparta!" was not part of the script. The script called for Butler to utter those words in a hushed tone, per the director. The performer requested a redo. Many people on set probably laughed at his expense when he screamed, but the director liked it. As a result, a take that wasn't originally intended to be in the film ended up being included.

3. Kate Winslet

Kate Winslet provided a second possible interpretation of her character's actions at the outset of the panic on board. Rose runs to rescue Jack while Cal is trying to stop his fiancée. According to the screenplay, the girl was supposed to jab Cal with a hairpin. In contrast, Rose spits in her fiance's face. The director agreed with Winslet's choice because she had already shown quick thinking and competence in applying the skill while Jack showed Rose how to spit.

4. Daniel Craig

Daniel Craig decided to have some fun during a beach scene shoot. The actor got into the water, pretended to swim, and then jumped out. The shot ended up being so good that it was kept in the film. Additionally, some shots were used for the film's marketing campaign and became the basis for the new James Bond image.

5. Mike Myers

In the movie Shrek, Mike Myers provided his voice for the main character. He did it with a distinctly Canadian lilt. After reading the rough draft, Myers decided to give his character a Scottish accent. Based on his portrayal, the actor believed Shrek to be a working-class member, which Myers interprets to mean something like this.
In terms of time and money, this decision added a lot of hassle to the animators' already lengthy workload. But the investment was worthwhile, as Shrek became one of the most well-known Scottish pop culture figures of the 21st century and the film's producer, Steven Spielberg, remained happy throughout the production process.

6. Reese Witherspoon

The actress didn't want to play Annette because she didn't like the character the writers had written for her. Annette was deemed to be too timid and lazy by Witherspoon. The actress poured her time and energy into developing the role, rewriting lines until she had a complex and nuanced protagonist.

7. Joaquin Phoenix

Joaquin Phoenix, while filming the kitchen scene, abruptly removed all of the perishables from the refrigerator before climbing inside and locking the door. Despite their shock, the crew continued filming because they were eager to see what Phoenix would do next. This is how one of the film's most dramatic scenes developed.
