Have you ever met someone who has the same name in your class or workplace? And what about the same first or last name? Well,  it's not hard to run into someone who shares a name and in Hollywood, we meet many cases where pairs of celebrities share the same name but aren't related.
Some famous people try to distinguish themselves by adding a middle initial to their name while others adopt a stage name. Katy Perry is a case in point. She was born Katheryn Hudson, which could have easily been mistaken for Kate Hudson. It is one of the reasons why she decided to use her mother's maiden name of Perry so she wouldn't be confused with the Almost Famous actress. Besides them, some celebs have famous name twins.

Despite their different physical appearances, The Dawson's Creek alum and the former Destiny's Child singer are mistaken for each other all the time. They share the exact same name. Williams, the singer experienced unexpected trouble, receiving messages following the actress’ controversial Emmys speech about pay inequality in Hollywood.

In an interview with The Guardian in June 2017, Perry opened up about how her strict upbringing played a role in her decision to change her name. She shared, “I created this wonderful character called Katy Perry that I very much am, and can step into all the time, but I created that character out of protection… I didn't want to be Katheryn Hudson. I hated that, it was too scary for me, so I decided to be someone else.”
