Unlike the usual secrecy surrounding their private affairs, this year saw a trend of famous individuals opening up and revealing scandalous revelations, providing us with a unique glimpse into their behind-the-scenes experiences.

#1. John Stamos originally had the Olsen twins fired from full house.

On an episode of the Good Guys podcast in April 2023, John revealed that his relationship with the toddler-age Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen was not too good. He recalled, “So, we’re carrying the baby downstairs and we take her in the kitchen and we hose her down. And she was screaming. Both of them.” He added,“They wanted to be anywhere else but there, and so did I.”

#2. Leonardo failed to shoot his shot with Gwyneth Paltrow despite his attempt.

In May 2023, Gwyneth Paltrow talked about her past relationships, including Ben Affleck and Brad Pitt, on the Call Her Daddy podcast. Podcast host Alex Cooper guessed if she had ever dated Leonardo DiCaprio, but Gwyneth gave a firm “no” to that, according to Buzzfeed.

She shared, “Nope, never made out with Leo. He tried back in the day. But he was already like, you know, he was very loose with the goods from when he was 19.”

#3. For his role as Elvis Presley, Jacob Elordi ate a pound of bacon daily.

When promoting the movie, Jacob Elordi, the actor playing Elvis Presley, joined filmmaker Sofia Coppola and co-star Cailee Spaeny for an Entertainment Weekly interview in November. In the discussion, they shared that Jacob ate a pound of bacon every day to get into character.

The actor confessed, “I averaged like a pound of bacon a day. It’s not that noticeable because I’m quite long, but I was the biggest I’ve ever been.” The film’s director also explained, Elvis loved “really burned bacon.”

In November 2023, Robert told Architectural Digest, “There was a time when the only piece of furniture I had for about six months was an inflatable boat that would double as my couch, bed, and dining table.” Despite his interest, he admitted that it caused a lot of back problems.”

#5. Michael Cera and Aubrey Plaza almost got married during the filming of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World

In June 2023, Michael Cera had a conservation with Rolling Stone and he shared his time filming the 2010 comic book adaptation Scott Pilgrim vs The World with Aubrey Plaza. He said, “Well, we were driving through Vegas and we almost just spontaneously took a detour and got married.” He continued, “I think the idea was to then get a divorce right away, so we could call each other ‘my ex-husband’ and ‘my ex-wife’ at like… 20 [years old].”

Gwen Stefani often incorporates the Japanese “Harajuku” style in her projects, like beauty products and music, but this has stirred controversy over cultural appropriation. In an interview with Allure in January 2023 during her visit to Japan, the singer claimed, “I said, 'My God, I'm Japanese and I didn't know it. I am, you know.'” She described her connection to Japanese culture as that of a “super fan,” emphasizing the “innocence” in her appreciation.

#7. Nick Cannon annually spent $200,000 at Disneyland.

Nick Cannon, who has 12 children with six different women, recently shared on The Breakfast Club radio show in New York City that he frequents Disneyland monthly to celebrate special occasions in his kids' lives. He mentioned spending around $200,000 a year at the theme park, acknowledging the significant expense of moving around Disneyland.

#8. Bethany Joy Lenz was in a cult for a decade.

In July 2023, on the Drama Queens podcast hosted by Bethany Joy Lenz, Sophia Bush, and Hilarie Burton, Bethany shared a surprising revelation: “I was in a cult for 10 years.” According to Vulture, she expressed that writing about her experience and the 10-year recovery afterward would be valuable. 

Bethany mentioned the painful part was distancing herself from friends and family, causing her to miss important life events. Her loyalty to the cult even led her to turn down opportunities for big movies and Broadway shows during the peak of her career.

The Chainsmokers, made up of Andrew “Drew” Taggart and Alex Pall, revealed on the Call Her Daddy podcast that they had engaged in multiple threesomes together. Alex explained that during the times of sharing hotel rooms, saying, “In Europe, they have the two beds, they don't even split them apart … so it's almost by force that we were forced into these scenarios.” The musicians admitted that these experiences were unexpected and left them somewhat surprised, as they were not planned occurrences.
