Adorable Duck Stands Outside Door Every Day Just Waiting For His Best Buddy To Join His Fun

Though we have shared many strange but amazing friendships in the animal kingdom, we think that it is imposible to stop sharing these fascinating tales. From the strong bond between a dog and a cat, who refuse to leave each other at the vet, to the lovely connection of a chipmunk and a cat, who accidentally meet each other and gradually become close friends. On a farm in Oklahoma, there is an extraordinary friendship between two different species.

The farm is home to Olee, a lovely duck. He has been living here for so long, and every morning, his owner notices Olee walking up to the dog door and waiting there.

One might assume that he is watching for another duck, perhaps of a different breed. Surprisingly, what emerges from the house is a beast roughly 30 times the size of OIee. That’s his buddy, a chocolate-colored Saint Bernard named Biss.

Every morning, Olee walks up to the dog door and waits there.

Waiting in front of the window becomes one of the daily routines of the small animal. Anytime Jessie Vallier, his owner, sees him standing outside the door, she realizes how patient the mallard is. Any minute now, he’ll meet his friend.

According to Jessie Vallier, the two came closer pretty quickly and out of the blue. Disregard the fact that they are from different species.

“I noticed Olee following Biss around,” Vallier said to the animal channel The Dodo. “About a month after we adopted them, he became Biss’s little shadow.”

The two are never apart—except for when it is time for bed. Even with their apparent size difference, the pair go on adventures where their friendship becomes a story of a lifetime.

Even as different animals, the two of them enjoy a lot of things together.

If dogs wag their tails like windshield wipers in a storm, Olee does something else. "As soon as Biss runs outside, Olee gets so excited," she said, describing how Olee would flap his wings like he was trying to fly.

Specifically, relaxing in a kiddie pool is one of their favorite "water sports" activities. In contrast to Biss, who does what all big dogs do and essentially floats, Olee is at ease swimming and fluttering on the water like any other duck.

Additionally, they play fetch, which Vallier described as Biss running after the ball while Olee simply keeps up with him.

They represent what true friendship looks like.

“I think the biggest thing that shocked me was how well they got along and how gentle Biss was with this duck,” Vallier also shared. “It’s amazing watching a 153-pound dog play wand be around with a 5-pound duck.”

Even after other animals moved in and they had been friends for a year and a half, the two remained inseparable. Olee will typically be present nearby whenever Biss appears.

A children’s book called “Adventures of Biss and Olee” is published, and we’re sure it’s a story kids will be reading for years to come.
