The organization was established by Megan Mannarelli-Martin and her husband. For more than four years, they had done a handful of rescues, so in the summer of 2022, the couple went on a vacation with their three feline musketeers. However, halfway to the destination, Megan spotted a little dog wandering alone on the deserted street.

The next thing the couple knew when seeing the poor pup was they couldn't leave her in the middle of nowhere. Because the dog was cautious and nervous, Megan waited an hour for the puppy named Kevin to approach her. When Kevin was calm, they checked her info, but it was no use. In the meantime, the couple decided to let Kevin accompany them on the trip to Sequoia National Park.

At first, the pup was anxious. Yet, after a few days of being with the rescuers, Kevin trusted them completely and turned into an excitable playing bug. Quickly, she got familiar with the three cats and showed interest in every stop on the road.

The trip then ended, and Kevin settled in Rafiki's Rescue's foster home. The adorable furball has been looking forwards to a kind family adopting her since October 2022. Regardless of her effort, Kevin is still waiting at the shelter with her other rescued pet friends.
