Everyone tells lies, and that includes renowned public figures. Most of the time, lying about one's age is not harmful, which is why many celebrities do it (even Jennifer Lopez has done it). However, to attract the media's attention, certain celebrities may sometimes embellish the truth, which might lead to legal complications.
Fans and websites that focus on a certain topic are frequently quite effective at spotting when a celebrity is lying. Here are ten instances in which famous people have been found lying.
1. Kim Kardashian

The 2013 typhoon tragedy in the Philippines touched the hearts of many famous people. One celebrity that reached out was Kim Kardashian, who held a clothing and accessory sale on eBay to benefit charity. The money was said to be going to the International Medical Corps so they could buy things like food, water, and medicine. Later, however, word got out that Kim K. planned to give away only 10% of the auction proceeds. Many people felt deceived by her decision, and she took a lot of heat for it.
2. Ed Sheeran

In 2016, Ed Sheeran headlines as rumors circulated that Princess Beatrice had accidentally sliced his face open with a toy sword. The media spread the rumor that the princess accidentally sliced her prince's cheek while swinging the sword back, and many people believed it. Months later, though, James Blunt disproved this, and a drunk Ed Sheeran slashed himself. Blunt said the whole thing was made up, but it beats the alternative explanation.
3. Bella Thorne

Because she knows her fans will criticize her if they find out she wears real fur, Bella Thorne lied to protect her reputation. Above, she is seen sporting a fur coat, which she later revealed was fake. People quickly learned, however, that it was an actual hybrid of rabbit and fox. Much criticism led to her modifying the original caption. She learned that it was fake and told her closest confidants that she would no longer be seen in public with it.
4. Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan said in an interview that one of her community service tasks in 2012 involved rolling up and relocating a body bag that would be used to transport Whitney Houston's remains. The Coroner's office contacted the media after the interview and claimed the rumors were false. Lohan cut and rolled plastic, but not for any particular purpose.
5. Rebel Wilson

In an interview with Australian Women's Weekly from 2014, Rebel Wilson discussed how her mother settled on the name Rebel for her. She repeated that she was 29 years old and that her relation to Walt
Disney entitled her to perks like living in a special apartment. The actress lied to the writer, revealing that she was in her mid-30s, that her real name was Melanie, and that she had no family ties to Walt Disney. The actress said the magazine's portrayal of Wilson as a "serial liar" hurt her professional reputation and livelihood, so she filed a lawsuit against it.
6. Tyga

Some creative types think they'll be more interesting to their audience if they have a tough upbringing. When they lie about it, though, it might backfire negatively. Tyga has long claimed that his upbringing was modest in Compton. On the other hand, he claimed to have a house in the Valley and a Range Rover in a video dated 2008. After hearing the allegations, Tyga responded by saying they were all staged.

Khloe Kardashian uploaded a photo of some delicious-looking baked goods to Instagram to demonstrate her culinary prowess. She tweeted her confirmation that she had indeed done all the work herself and that she was pleased with the results. TMZ claims she purchased the entire spread from the Los Angeles bakery Sweet Lady Jane. This pie appears to be the same as the one offered on their website.
