Jennifer Lawrence lost control while she was one of the most desired actresses in Hollywood. Most recently, she has revealed many thoughts on her career at London Film Festival’s “Screen Talk” series. What actually happened that made her say so? 

#1. She’s Back To Her Indie Roots After Several Years Being A Blockbuster Queen

Lawrence rose to stardom in her early 20s. When she was only 22, she starred in The Hunger Games franchise and became worldwide famous. The 1990-born actress pursued her acting career when she was only 16, starting with several independent movies such as Garden Party and The Poker House. 
At the London Film Festival 2022, the star has just revealed her latest project “Causeway”, an A24 movie with a small budget and limited release. Lawrence is now returning to the early stage of career, trying out different roles in non-blockbusters. The 32-year-old actress also confirmed that she would no longer act in franchises, “because I’m too old and brittle”.
The movie is a drama directed by Lila Neugebauer. Lawrence portrays a soldier returning home from battle and finding out that she has PTSD, caused by a brain injury. Then, her normal life starts being extremely abnormal since she has to adapt to the new life, in a drastic way.

Fame, popularity, achievements might bother a celebrity at some points. Especially when that celebrity gains his fame too soon. This applies exactly to the X-Men actress. 
Starring in several big-budget and high-grossing movies when she was only under 25 years old, Jennifer Lawrence lost control at some phases of her life “I think I lost a sense of control. Between ‘The Hunger Games’ coming out and winning the Oscar, I became such a commodity that I felt like every decision was a big, big group decision. When I reflect now, I can’t think of those following years, just a loss of control.”
It’s actually a mutual feeling among those who succeeded early in their life. When you already achieve more than most people of your generation, it is hard to maintain a balanced life and career. There are pressures which you put on yourself, expectations from the surroundings and overthinking for future plans. Eventually, all those things will wear you out. 

#3. Her Personal Life Was Also One Of The Factors

This year, she gave birth to a beautiful baby, Cy, in February with her husband Cooke Maroney. They married in 2019. When she spent most of her time taking care of the baby, Lawrence was also looking back at her career, being one of the most successful young actresses. It was a precious period of time as she finally realized many things and got her feet back on the ground. 
“It feels personal for me, the first time in a long time” she said to the audience at the London Film Festival. The actress is now happily enjoying being a mother and acting in different types of characters. Katniss Everdeen will stay as iconic but still, she and we have to move on.
