The main characters are supposed to be the best part of the series. They are what the whole stories are about after all! Sadly, this isn’t always the case. Sometimes, TV shows just suffered with main characters who were actually the worst parts of the shows. Instead of being the glue that holds the entire show together, some main characters just annoying or problematic. Many people even quit the show as they can’t stand them.

1. Emily - Emily in Paris

Emily in Paris seems to offend a lot of people, especially the French. The show is full of French stereotypes and every French character in the show seems to be rude or lazy, or both. But the worst part about this show is none other than Emily. She is extremely annoying to watch.
Emily didn’t bother to learn French before she came to Paris to work there. She was also the youngest in her office, yet she tried to teach her colleagues about work ethic. Plus, she had no experience in working with luxury brands despite that was what her job all about. She was clueless most of the time. It’s just 100% stupid and 0% cute.

2. Rachel Berry, Glee

Rachel Berry is one of the most infamous main characters who seem to be hated by everyone. We admire her voice and her dedication to what she wants to pursue, but that’s it. She is just a horrible character who will cry if she doesn’t get her solo.
Rachel was obsessed with being the best. She is a whiny, selfish, and very manipulative person. She hurt her BFF Kurt multiple times, and also gaslighted her boyfriend after she cheated on him. Other mean girls in the show like Santana, Puck, and Quinn developed throughout Glee, and Rachel changed too. She got more insufferable.

3. Rachel - Friends

Despite being the main character of the iconic TV show Friends, Rachel was the least favorite character in the friend group. She was revealed to be a vicious bully in high school in the episode with Brad Pitt, and her personality didn’t seem to change much. Rachel and Ross’s relationship is also extremely toxic. Overall, she was an immature, self-centered, and petty character.

4. Sheldon - The Big Bang Theory

Sheldon started as a socially awkward side character who was clueless about how to talk to people around him. He was tolerable, even relatable to some. But as the show went on, he became more and more of a self-centered narcissistic bully. He is the type of person that you can’t stand in real life.

5. Ted Mosby - How I Met Your Mother

Ted Mosby spent nine seasons telling his kids about how he met their mother, only to ask them for their permission to date their aunt Robin in the end. Ted wanted somebody to tie the knot with, but Robin didn’t. He was hopelessly pinning after Robin for years, up to the point he became obsessed with her.
His stories about his different hook-ups when he was younger showed us how much of a whiny, self-absorbed, and completely inconsiderate a-hole he was. Even when his girlfriends were nice girls, he treated them horribly.

6. Meredith - Grey's Anatomy

Despite being the main character of one of the most iconic TV series, Meredith is the most boring and dull part of the show. She is brooding, whiny, self-absorbed, entitled, and annoying. Everyone else in the show seemed to be better, or at least more interesting, to watch than her.

7. Elizabeth - The Blacklist

How the hell an amazing profiler couldn’t realize her husband was a spy and always chose the wrong decision in every situation? Elizabeth’s character didn’t make any sense. She was a mess. Many fans of the series just can’t stand her.

8. Piper Chapman - Orange is the New Black

Piper’s only cared about herself. Other inmates suffered harder circumstances and actual issues like racism, oppression, and pregnancy while Piper was only worried about her privileges. She was an annoying and whiny rich girl who was selfish and caused drama for no reason.

The only good thing about Carrie Bradshaw was her fashion sense and that was about it. She cheated on Aiden, the nicest guy she ever dated, with her married ex-boyfriend Mr. Big. Carrie was also a thirty-something-year-old woman who couldn't do the right thing. She just couldn’t help herself from falling into traps not once, not twice, but several times. Plus, her financial management skills were a total disaster.

10. Homer Simpson - The Simpsons

And last but not least, Homer Simpson might be the iconic main character from the famous series The Simpsons, but it didn’t mean he was a great person. His tendency to go too far with his practical jokes is just cringe-worthy. He is lazy, selfish, obnoxious, and overall not a fun person you would want to spend your time with.
