It takes Marvel about 5 months to release its upcoming movie, right after Thor: Love and Thunder premiering in the blockbuster summer. Previously, the movie was postponed due to several reasons consisting of main actor Chadwick Boseman’s death and the pandemic. Eventually, there is a confirmation that the movie shall premiere on November 11, 2022, about 2 weeks before Thanksgiving. It is expected to be one of the hit movies during the last quarter of 2022.

#2. Black Panther 2 Cast & Characters

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige stated that they will not recast the role of Boseman, considering “It just felt like it was much too soon to recast”. It’s one of the ways to pay tribute to the late actor. Boseman had been fighting colon cancer for several years, including when he was filming Marvel movies. Therefore, the solution is to choose a successor to King T'Challa’s legacy. Which means the introduction of a new Black Panther. This is somehow similar to the main theme of Phase 4 in the MCU as the original heroes have finished their journeys. After all, it does make sense and seems reasonable. There is a high possibility that the movie will not feature his footage but only images and stories.
Most of the cast members will reprise, including Letitia Wright as Shuri, Lupita Nyong'o as Nakia, Danai Gurira as Okoye, Winston Duke as M'Baku and Angela Bassett as Queen Ramonda. Fans have predicted that Shuri would be handed over the Black Panther moniker. Martin Freeman will also return as the CIA agent Everett Ross. Hopefully he is not a Skrull.
Furthermore, there will also be new cast members and characters in the film. Most significantly, Dominique Thorne will make her debut in the MCU as Riri Williams/Ironheart, a brand new character. In the following year, 2023, this character will have her own self-titled TV series on Disney+. The main antagonist will be Namor, the king of the underwater kingdom Talokan. However, originally in the Marvel comics, Namor is a character who is considered both a villain and a superhero. His journey will be interesting at its best.

#3. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Trailer

The official trailer just premiered a few days ago, on October 3. It starts with the funeral of T'Challa, followed by the first looks of Namor and his kingdom. It is somewhat similar to the Atlantis Kingdom in the DC Extended Universe. The scenes afterwards also show the conflict between the underwater kingdom with the surface world. It could be said that Wakanda then had to choose a new leader and warrior who must be as powerful as Namor to oppose him.
