It is a stop-motion animated musical dark fantasy following the story of Jack Skellington, the King of "Halloween Town". For the first time in history of the Academy Awards, an animation was nominated for the Best Visual Effects. It also gained so many praises from audience and critics, making it one of the most popular Tim Burton’s works. 

#4. Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007)

Sweedney Todd is a musical slasher film starring Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter. The couple later also make appearances in Alice In Wonderland, the live-action. Among Tim Burton movies and shows, it’s definitely the darkest and the most haunting. It is an adaptation of the 1979 musical of the same name. It is a touching pet story in which the deceased Sparky, a bull terrier dog is brought back to life by his genius owner Victor Frankenstein. Watching this masterpiece simply makes you cry a lot, especially with the pet owners who can relate to the acts of Victor.
