Riley (voiced by Kaitlyn Dias in the first film) will be a teenager in Inside Out 2, and Amy Poehler told People that the tale will focus on the feelings that adolescents experience. According to Poehler, "We'll experience what it's like to be a teenager, the new feelings that dwell within a teenager's brain. It was thrilling in many ways. We were certain of our location. We go to the teen brain and see the madness that exists within it."
This is fantastic news because I enjoyed the story of Riley learning to adapt to this new environment and attempting to process her feelings to properly cope with it, as well as Joy learning to accept grief as a part of Riley's life. It was lovely and uplifting.
Bong Bing, I'm even more thrilled for what's to come now that I know LeFauve will be returning to write, and I can't wait to see what story she comes up with for this lovely world of feelings.

Oh, Joy! This is a joyous day indeed because Amy Poehler is going to be back to play Joy, the main emotion that we followed a good amount of in the first Inside Out. It was confirmed at the time of the announcement at D23 that she’s going to be around for the sequel, which is so fun to hear.
