Edgy: Simple-mindedly and transparently trying to appear tough or 'cool', for the sake of being provocative and/or offensive. Usually, this is done to disguise the fact that otherwise, that person or thing is not at all - intellectually or otherwise - provocative.

Arrogance is weaponized pride, as Andrea F. Polard, Ph.D., defined it in a brilliant way. It alienates others in contrast to healthy pride, which is a proper celebration of individual or group achievement.
One great example of this is the subreddit r/NotLikeTheOtherGirls. The online community has made it a point to shame anyone who want to stand out by identifying themselves differently from "the standard." These people don't demonstrate their originality; instead, they just make a fool of themselves, winning laughs rather than admiration.
Few, if any, factors worsen interpersonal relationships more than arrogance, which is one of them.
Arrogance is the presumptuous act of appropriating something for oneself, making an unjustified claim, and being overconfident in one's own significance.
One of the unfortunate effects of arrogance is that those who possess it frequently are unaware of it, and when feedback is provided that suggests they might be taking advantage of others more than they should, they frequently become extremely defensive and even combative, which ironically proves that they probably are.
