MonsterVerse is Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment’s cinematic monster universe with several monsters created by Toho Japan. These are Godzilla, King Kong, Mothra, Rodan and other unannounced monsters. Notably, the latest film Godzilla vs Kong caught a lot of attention. #1. Kong: Skull Island (2017)

It featured several well-known stars including Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson and Samuel L. Jackson. It takes place in the 1970s, 41 years before the events in Godzilla. A special team was sent to an island in the South Pacific to investigate an unknown monster. That monster turns out to be King Kong, a giant ape, and is not evil. Its task is to protect the island and people living on it. Initially pissed off by the invaders, then Kong teams up with them to fight other threats to the remote island.

#2. Godzilla (2014)

Godzilla is one of the most long-running kaiju series in Japan. The movie is about Joe Brody, a nuclear engineer. He has found out the hidden monsters living underground for ages. His son, Ford, successfully rescues himself and his family’s members from the MUTOs, two ancient parasitic Titans from the early age of earth. Project Monarch has been introduced in this film, an organization making an effort to track these dangerous creatures. Bryan Cranston, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe and Sally Hawkins took part in the cast. Godzilla is also awakened in this movie, the monster will take vital roles in the following projects.

#3. Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019)

There are more monsters in an attempt to destroy the world. The monstrous insect Mothra, the firing creature Rodan, and the three-headed space dragon King Ghidorah made debut appearances for this film. Project Monarch is in charge of fighting the scary monsters. There are connections to the prequels in this film with a related character to Kong: Skull Island. It also gives hints to the upcoming projects featuring various monsters and characters, teasing a peaceful future between titans and humans.

#4. Godzilla vs Kong (2021)

This is the latest movie in this franchise featuring two most-known titans, Godzilla and Kong. As soon as the movie premiered, it created a huge meme trend on social media.
It demonstrates the biggest conflict of the two terrifying giant monsters that might cease the world’s existence. It’s gonna be a great experience to see the crossover of these two in the same movie. It was planned long ago and has just become reality last year, marking the 4th spot in the MonsterVerse.
The movie did not perform too well in the box office, otherwise it raised hope for a long-running series in the future. A sequel is already in the making and will premiere in the near future.
