Moon Knight: The Only MCU Character Has Two Identities

Moon Knight premiered on Disney+ and caught a lot of attention from the fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. For the first time ever, a special character made his debut to the screen with an odd background and history. Let’s simply get to know more about this character in this article.

#1. A Protagonist Who Has Two Characters.

Oscar Isaac portrayed not one but two characters in this Disney+ show which are Steven Grant and Marc Spector. His dissociative personality disorder causes these two identities. By day, he is the gentle Steve Grant working in a museum gift shop. By night, he is Marc Spector (or Moon Knight), a mercenary under the Egyptian god Khonshu. This kind of sounds like a Marvel’s version of Black Swan or Hannah Montana.
Otherwise, the two identities do not seem to know each other’s existence. They are like two parallel lines. Previously, when Marc was close to his death, Khonshu showed up and saved his life. As a favor, Marc has committed his life to the Egyptian god. He has been chosen by the mighty god to become his avatar, protecting humans at night.
Anyways, after this incident, his alternative ego has been developed. He is no longer a regular human being, rather than a powerful being. For all these reasons, he might be one of the most interesting protagonists that has appeared in the MCU. The rest are just powerful humans or gods, with much more simple backgrounds.

#2. The Series Is One Of The Best In Phase 4.

After Avengers: Endgame, Marvel is focusing on debuting new superheroes and antagonists for the next big thing. This results in several new series premiering on the streaming platform. Many devoted fans of the MCU have claimed that most of these series are not as qualified as the previous works. However, Moon Knight is another picture. It received several positive reviews and compliments for the storyline, characters and CGI effects. Notably, Oscar Isaac did perform his best to demonstrate two contrasted characters at the same time. He is definitely the spotlight of the show.

#3. Is There Gonna Be A Sequel?

Unfortunately, the initial announcement confirmed that this is a limited series, as of Hawkeye, which means there will be no sequel or prequel. Fans absolutely do not approve of this. They have consistently shown interest in an upcoming movie or TV series, claiming Moon Knight does deserve a next chapter in the MCU. Disney and Marvel, by all cost, will not let such a great opportunity slide by their hands as we have known of them.
Luckily, Moon Knight will probably return to the MCU. In the upcoming movie Blade, he is expected to return as he is tightly related to this character in Marvel Comics. Mahershala Ali has confirmed to play the lead role and promisingly the supernatural beings will have a great debut in the MCU. In 2021’s Eternals, Ali had a special cameo at the credits and excited fans for his new character.
