12 Celebrities Who Were Victims Of Robbery And What They Were Robbed

Fame often comes with money, and that is certainly true for celebrities. However, their luxurious life isn’t always safe. With the fact that almost everybody knows how wealthy they are, they have become an easy target for thieves. Many famous stars were victims of robberies or burglaries. Some were quick hit-and-run cases, while others were more dangerous.
With that being said, here is the list of the most infamous celebrity robberies. Let’s see who lost the largest amount of money, and which case was the most bizarre.

1. Kim Kardashian

This robbery is one of the most infamous cases in the history of celebrity news. Kim Kardashian was on her way to attend Paris Fashion Week in October 2016. The robbery took place in the apartment where she was staying at. The group of thieves consisted of five people, who managed to get inside the building after threatening the concierge.
Kim was threatened with a weapon, then gagged and bound with duct tape. Lucky for Kim, the thieves just wanted her possessions and caused her no physical harm. After they had taken what they wanted, they left the building. They got away with an estimated $10 million in jewelry including a $4 million ring from Kanye West.

2. Beyonce

Back in 2021, Beyoncé was the victim of not just one but two robberies. The famous singer rented three storage units under the production company name Parkwood Entertainment. One of the units was burglarized in early March 2019. The thieves who got away with it had come back for two more units.
The burglars took expensive gowns, designer handbags, kid toys, and more. The loss was estimated to be more than $1 million.

3. Gigi Hadid

Hadid was staying in Mykonos, Greece with her sisters Bella, Alana, and Marielle Hadid when the robbery took place. After the incident happened, the model uploaded a post on her second Instagram account, writing, "Mykonos film in". She then added, "PS(A). Don't let insta fool u. Got robbed. Never going back lol. Wouldn't recommend it. Spend your money elsewhere."
Gigi's dad Mohamed Hadid later shared the details with TMZ. He told us that fortunately, the sisters were out when the burglary happened. Only their personal items were taken and none of his daughters were hurt. Gigi was left traumatized by the event nonetheless.

4. Miley Cyrus

During the time between 2013 and 2014, the famous singer and actress Miley Cyrus was robbed three times. The first time happened when she was away on tour. Her personal property was taken and the loss was estimated to be $100,000.
The robbers got bolder after they got away with it. They came back for second, and third. This time, they took both Cyrus’s and her brother’s property, along with her banking card and her Maserati Quattroporte. The car was estimated to be $120,000. However, the thieves were caught, and they paid for what they had done.

5. Kirsten Dunst

Back in August 2007, the lovely Mary Jane was a victim of burglary, but there was no Spiderman to help her at that time. Dunst was away in New York filming How to Lose Friends & Alienate People, staying at a penthouse at the Soho Grand Hotel. The burglary took place in her hotel suite during her absence.
The thieves managed to get away with her $13,000 handbag, iPod, and some identification cards. Security footage shows the break-in happening not long after Dunst left with British actor Simon Pegg and assistant Liat Baruch to the film set.

6. Kate Moss

This case happened in May 2010, and Kate was lucky that the thieves hadn’t done anything except steal her property. The supermodel was still asleep when the robber scaled her gate. They got away with three expensive artworks, one of which was a $115,000 worth portrait done by Banksy.

7. Simon Cowell

Another burglary that took place when people were asleep is the case of Simon Cowell. The judge of Britain's Got Talent lost his passport, as well as jewelry. His security guard was using the bathroom, leaving the chance for the thief to break into Cowell’s Holland Park home.
The culprit was Darren February. His DNA was found on the gloves dropped at the scene, as well as a handprint left on a wall that he used to escape the property. February was arrested and sentenced to an eight-and-a-half-year jail sentence.

8. Orlando Bloom

Bloom’s LA house became the target of the infamous Bling Ring while he was in New York City. The actor lost $500,000 worth of jewelry, a Louis Vuitton laptop-size bag, a few Rolex watches, and an Alex Perry dress belonging to his ex-wife Miranda Kerr. The burglars entered his Hollywood Hills home through a window.
Alexis Neiers, an aspiring model who had her own reality TV show "Pretty Wild," later confessed to her participation in the crime. She was facing a prison sentence of up to six years if convicted, but by confessing she was given a two-year suspended sentence.

9. Lady Gaga

Unlike other cases we have mentioned above, this robbery didn't about money. The robbers were going after Lady Gaga’s beloved French Bulldogs. Her dog walker, Ryan Fischer, was walking the dogs when two people approached him. The strangers quickly turned violent and attempted to steal the dogs. A fight between the robbers and Fischer broke out. The assailants shot the dog walker and got away with two of the dogs: Koji and Gustav.
Lucky for Fischer, he was hospitalized just in time and recovered from his injuries. Lady Gaga announced a US$500,000 reward for her dogs. Two days after the incident, a woman brought the dogs to the LAPD. She turned out to be involved with the robbers and was arrested along with four other suspects after the investigation.

10. Megan Fox

Another victim of the infamous Bling Ring is Megan Fox. They stole Fox’s expensive clothes, along with her then-boyfriend Brian Austin Green’s SIG Sauer semi-automatic handgun. Nobody knows what they planned to do with the gun, but Green panicked when he realized it was one of their stolen items.

11. Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes

Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes were in their LA home when the burglary took place. The burglars, not knowing the couple were inside, broke in through the window. Lucky for the famous singers, the thieves decided it wasn’t worth the trouble and left. They left with Shawn Mendes's Mercedes SUV though.

12. Conan O'Brien

A burglar broke into the Coronet Theater in West Hollywood, which was housing the late-night show "Conan" equipment, and stole the crew’s possessions. Lost items including some laptops and, peculiarly, a clapperboard. The crew had just moved their set to the Los Angeles theater to help support them, who were hit hard during the pandemic.
