9 Actresses Who Are Too Devoted Even In Maternity Period

Every woman experiences something very unique during her pregnancy. It's all about the unique experiences, like growing a human inside their belly, and the physical transformations, including hormone shifts, weight increase, strange appetites, morning sickness, fatigue, and so forth. Most pregnant women, despite these difficulties, continue to work throughout their pregnancies.
There is no difference between famous actresses and everybody else. As their bellies grow, many of them still want to keep filming. Unexpected pregnancies are sometimes written into scripts, but usually, the screenwriters have to resort to baggy clothes and camera trickery to hide the pregnancy. It's often done so well that only the most discerning audience will realize the actress was carrying a child throughout production.

1. Ellen Pompeo, 'Grey's Anatomy'

Ellen Pompeo got pregnant during Grey's Anatomy's sixth season. Since screenwriters didn't want to include pregnancy, everyone had to improvise. It helped because Pompeo's character worked in a hospital and didn't need to wear tight-fitting garments on set. They also filmed her behind an operating table. When the naturally slim actress became pregnant, it was hard to disguise her belly, so they had to get creative. Meredith donated part of her liver to her father, so they added that plot. This storyline twist gave Pompeo a break. She probably needed it.

2. Sarah Jessica Parker, ' Sex And The City'

Sex and the City fans knew Carrie Bradshaw liked clothes. Nobody was surprised when she started wearing baggy clothes. Everyone assumed it was a trend. Not fashion-related. Costume designers hid SJP's pregnancy. Since Parker only gained weight in her belly, it was easy to hide. To make things easier for Parker and the costume designers, the fifth season was shortened so she could play her role earlier in pregnancy. Eight episodes instead of 13 were produced. I'm not sure if the fans enjoyed the adjustment.

3. Cobie Smulders, 'How I Met Your Mother'

How I Met Your Mother co-star Cobie Smulders (Robin Scherbatsky) was pregnant. The crew had to conceal both Smulders and Alyson Hannigan's pregnancies. Smulders' pregnancy couldn't be included because Robin's infertility was revealed later in the series. Costume designers hid Smulders' pregnancy with layers of garments and scarves. In most scenes, she hid her huge stomach with enormous handbags. The casting crew probably breathed relief when both actresses gave birth and shooting resumed.

4. Alyson Hannigan, 'How I Met Your Mother'

How I Met Your Mother's Alyson Hannigan (Lily Aldrin) was pregnant twice. Screenwriters first opted not to include her pregnancy. Thus, her baby belly was disguised. Only once did we see her stomach. Lily won a hot dog-eating contest in that episode. Remember when she cheered and showed us her belly? The script said Lily had a full stomach, but it was her pregnancy bump.

5. Helena Bonham Carter, 'Sweeney Todd'

Helena Bonham Carter dated Tim Burton and appeared in his films (often along with Johnny Depp). Sweeney Todd was one. The actress was pregnant during filming. Bonham Carter wore corsets when pregnant for art.
Since the movie was filmed out of order, the woman's chest size varies frequently. Bonham Carter laughed; "Anyone who observes my breast size will see a discontinuity. I start with enormous breasts, then stroll upstairs and get tangerines. Melons to oranges." Bonham Carter said, "I'm certain your mood during pregnancy affects your baby's disposition, so I hope we didn't make a serial murderer!" Hope so!

6. Courteney Cox, 'Friends'

Not only Lisa Kudrow got pregnant while filming Friends. Courteney Cox was pregnant during season 10. Pregnancy couldn't be incorporated in her tale because Monica Geller and Chandler Bing couldn't have children. Costume designers disguised the actress' bun in the oven. Only a highly alert spectator would spot something odd beneath Monica's scarves, jackets, sweaters, and numerous layers of clothes in the last season.

7. Lisa Kudrow, 'Friends'

Phoebe's pregnancy with her brother's triplets wasn't originally in Friends' screenplay. Lisa Kudrow's pregnancy made them add it to the show. I don't know what season four held, but adding the triplets storyline instead of hiding the actress' pregnancy was excellent. It contributed several amusing moments, especially when Phoebe said she was about to have her brother's children.
Phoebe had to wear padding on her belly to look even more pregnant. Kudrow wasn't pregnant in one episode, but Phoebe was. It was "The One After Ross Says Rachel" from season five.

8. Claire Danes, 'Homeland'

Claire Danes were pregnant during Homeland season 2. According to her, these were her toughest shoots. As Danes' pregnancy advanced, Homeland became more action-packed. "At one point, we were shooting in an old sewage plant. I was kidnapped, shackled to a pipe at 4 a.m., and I was like, 'This sucks.'" Danes added, "I had to do love scenes pregnant. That was awful."

9. Scarlett Johansson, 'Avengers: Age Of Ultron'

Playing a superhero requires doing tricks you don't perform in real life. So being a pregnant superhero must be physically taxing. Scarlett Johansson learned it for Avengers: Age of Ultron. How was filming when pregnant? True! She liked filming more than usual. On Ellen, she said, "Cool, everyone was friendly to me. I didn't get too roughed up by the boys, which was nice." Johansson added, "I loved working. I never expected to work like that."
