But have you ever watched any movies, where the protagonist isn't from either studio, but still wields tremendous superpowers, or is so strong that they can effortlessly defeat hundreds of enemies at once?
Those kinds of characters do exist, they just flew under the radar because their films are not from Marvel or DC. But it doesn't mean that their level of prowess is any less impressive than those of Superman or Hulk. Therefore, it's time to take a good peek at these 10 movie main characters who aren't from Marvel or DC, but we can assure you their powers can literally blow you away.

#1 Bruce Nolan - Bruce Almighty

Bruce Nolan was an unlucky man who struggled in both his relationship and career, but then he had the chance to meet God (Morgan Freeman) and gained superhuman abilities to turn his life around. Bruce can grant wishes, teleport, and even manipulate the moon for his girlfriend. Who wouldn't want this power?

#2 John Wick - John Wick franchise

Unlike any characters in this list, John Wick (Keanu Reeves) doesn't have superpowers, but that doesn't make him any less dangerous. During his journey to take revenge on his beloved dog, John has killed hoards of enemies, with either guns or his bare fists, in the most brutal ways possible. While normal human beings can only use 10% of their brain, Lucy can do much more and even develops different superpowers, such as telepathy, sleep control, or even immortality when her brain reaches 100%. Who can even defeat her?

Superheroes are not without flaws, and in Hancock's case, it's alcohol. John Hancock (Will Smith) is an immortal being with superhuman powers, including super strength, regeneration, and the ability to fly at supersonic speed. However, he eventually loses his powers and immortality when staying too close to his ex-wife, Mary, who has the same power as him.

Keanu Reeves seems to have a knack for playing badass overpowered characters, and this time he plays a character with superpowers named Neo. Neo is believed to be The One, a human prophesied to free humankind, and at the end of the movie, he gained powers to perceive and control The Matrix and easily defeated the powerful agents with his newfound abilities.

#10 Will Stronghold - Sky High

Being the son of the legendary Commander and Jetstream, Will Stronghold (Michael Angarano) didn't develop his superpowers until the middle of the show. Wielding super strength and flying ability as a teenager, he is strong enough to stop a flying island from touching the ground with time to spare. However, there's a lot that Will has to learn to become a full-fledged hero like his mom and dad.
