1. The Queen’s Gambit — Elizabeth’s Last Look

Elizabeth’s last look in The Queen’s Gambit represented a Queen chess piece. Her outfit was all white and even the shape of her beret was reminiscent of a chess piece. It was the perfect final look to end a great show about chess.

2. Enola Holmes — Helena Bonham Carter’s Jacket

Helena Bonham Carter’s character has a jacket with a pansy pattern. In the Victorian language of flowers, pansies represent loving feelings or symbolize “think of me.”

During the ball scene, Bruce was the only person who didn’t wear a mask. This was because he considered Bruce Wayne as his mask in public. Batman was his true identity. So when Selina asked him who was he pretending to be, Bruce answered, “Bruce Wayne, eccentric billionaire.”

4. Back To The Future — Marty’s Badge

During this scene, Marty is wearing a badge that looks quite unusual. It was a logo from a Soviet art and design exhibition that was held at London’s Hayward Gallery. Many limitations were set by the constraints of the genre back then. Steven Spielberg and George Lucas respected the freedom of expression in Soviet cinema. The badge was a way for them to show their thoughts.

5. The Truman Show — The Robe

The Truman Show told the story of a man whose whole life was fabricated on a TV set. Everything in the show is for sale, including the outfits. That is why the old ladies who watch the show and Meryl wear the same robe.

Mackenzie Crook had to wear 2 contact lenses on top of one another to make his eye appear like a wooden eye. The actor admitted that it was an uncomfortable experience. However, it wasn’t painful. The eye helped distinguish his character and made him stand out from other pirates.

Christine’s beautiful hairstyle was recreated from a famous portrait of Empress Elisabeth of Austria. Her dress was also a direct copy of the empress’s real dress. No wonder why she looked so stunning!

8. Moulin Rouge! — Satine’s Look

The movie Moulin Rouge! is set around 1899 to 1900. Wavy hair was a big trend back then. Nicole Kidman wore a wig throughout the movie and matched her makeup with looks that would become trendy at the beginning of the 20th century. This movie keeps its costume details very accurate.

9. Sleepy Hollow — Katrina’s Dress

Christina Ricci’s stripe dress in Sleepy Hollow is a reference to another Tim Burton movie: Beetlejuice. You can see that her attire looks very similar to his suit.
