9 Actors Who Are Notoriously Grumpy To Work With

Actors that are difficult to work with may be a big pain in the behind for directors. Nobody's notion of a good time is to have the production slowed down, drive up the project's cost, or create mayhem on the set. But every once in a while, an actor's ego gets out of control, which creates issues for the other people working there who want to do a decent job and go home.
The fact that Hollywood produces actors with these characteristics is certainly a regrettable side effect of the industry, but which actors are the worst? The following list ranks the top nine most difficult actors to collaborate with.

1. Lindsay Lohan

Because of her habit of always going out and being late on set, Lindsay Lohan has a reputation for being a pain to deal with. James Deen, her co-star in Canyons, has called Lohan a "child lashing out."

2. Jennifer Lopez

A helicopter was kept on standby, a customized speedboat was built for her, and she asked for diamond-encrusted headphones to "drown out the sound of the boat's motor." She also reportedly demanded a whole hotel floor. For instance, hotel personnel has been known to face the brunt of her wrath if she doesn't receive her preferred grapefruit and lime flower candles from Jo Malone, which retail for roughly $500 apiece.
A flight attendant said that she asked Lopez what she would like to drink and that she turned to her assistant and responded, "Please tell him I'd want a Diet Coke with lime." Lopez, however, is not permitted to communicate with the staff. The runner said, "The actresss "didn't bother to glance at [them]. It was a shame because in her films, she always comes off as kind and kind."

3. Thomas Gibson

A writer kicked Thomas Gibson in the shin after an altercation about the show's direction, leading to his suspension and eventual dismissal from the CBS drama Criminal Minds. However, this was not Gibson's first onset incident, as Deadline and TMZ indicate that in 2010, after pushing an assistant director, Gibson was ordered to undergo anger management classes.

4. Bruce Willis

5. Alec Baldwin

Alec Baldwin is notoriously tough to deal with due to his unpredictable nature. After he yelled homophobic obscenities at a photojournalist in 2013, MSNBC fired him. He frequently arrived late to set, yelled at the actors and crew, and made stupid complaints, such as "dry air," when filming 30 Rock.

6. Jennifer Aniston

Jennifer Aniston has a reputation for being a diva on set. According to many reports, the star of "Friends" and "The Morning Show," was distant from his coworkers. It has been stated that Aniston spends much of her time on set alone, avoiding the company of her coworkers at all costs. She is rumored to have lunch alone in her spacious trailer, located "far off set," rather than joining the rest of the cast and crew in the cafeteria.
She also revealed, "It wasn't my proudest moment," when she hurled a chair at a director once because she saw him mistreating a script supervisor. I hurled a chair at the director when he stepped in. I failed. You can't talk to people that way, and I won't stand for it.

7. Julia Roberts

Even though Julia Roberts is beloved by the American public, she allegedly acts like a diva when filming. Tinkerhell was the moniker that the Hook cast and crew gave her. Director Steven Spielberg explained the moniker by saying, "It was a horrible moment for us to work together," likely referencing Roberts' decision to break up with fiancé Kiefer Sutherland three days before their wedding.

8. Christian Bale

Christian Bale takes his craft extremely seriously and expects nothing less than perfection from those who work with him. With the leak of audio of Bale ranting at a director of photography on the set of Terminator Salvation, the public got a taste of what it's like to work with the actor. In a loud voice, Bale said, "You're ruining the mood for me. If you do it again, I will not be walking on set with you even if you are still employed here. In other words, you're a good person. No, it just won't do."

9. Shia LaBeouf
