The original poster (Reddit user account name u/ADHDdaydreamer) and her man got a new puppy the past month. She and her buddy-for-ten-year group had been setting up their possibly last bachelorette party. But then, it turned out that her weekend ticket covered five festival days, which displeased her lover.

He complained that he wouldn't be able to take on his clients and take care of the pup at once. Henceforth, the OP had her parents' word to help sit him. Regardlessly, her boyfriend refused to let anybody else but themselves look after their puppy because he didn't want others watching his dog for that long. After that, he didn't stop grumbling and whining about him being stressed and her not caring about him.

In the comment section below the OP's story, most Redditors agreed that her solution was on point and the burdensome one was her need-coddling lover. They supposed he fancied to have the pup accompanied at night, so he was messing with her intention to let him stay with her parents. They figured out he was annoyed because he had to deal with either the loneliness or the inconvenience in his work if he wished the best for their dog.

Reddit thought the OP's man was a bit childish whether he would miss her or wanted her to cover the dog duty. They expected him to accept life as it was: winning some and losing some. Plus, there would be expected and unexpected events that could multiply the difficulty of living together. They wondered how far the couple would go if he kept his winning-all mindset.

On the contrary, some people pointed out that the OP was selfish to leave her busy boyfriend with their dog. And when he confessed to not being able to watch him, she immediately separated them. They expected her to have a better idea. She should not just think of her own joy, but mindfully try to find a way to meet up with both her man's and the dog's need, such as sending the pup to a nearby kennel so her boyfriend could pick him up home every day.
