Parents and children don’t always get along. And sometimes, the parents aren’t at fault.
See… lots of kids these days are born wild from cribs, showing rebellion as a way to express individuality. This could mean a lot of boundary testing in their home.
While some eventually grow out of this state, others maintain a devil-may-care attitude to their parents’ rules. This can lead to a lot of fighting, screaming, and even violence. We call these “troubled kids.” And troubled kids can come from any household, including celebrities. We often hear stories about celebrities trying to clean up their kids’ mess, or getting them into good colleges via “donations”… Yeah, we are all looking at you, Aunt Becky!

#1 Marlon Brando

Marlon Brando, arguably the world's most famous actor, also fathered one of the industry's most troubled children. Though he had a few acting roles when he was younger, the late Christian Brando is best known for his highly publicized 1990 pre-trial and subsequent proceedings. Christian shot and killed Dag Drollet in the living room of his father's Beverly Hills home after learning that his half-sister had been abused by her boyfriend. After pleading guilty to manslaughter, he served 5 years in prison before pleading no contest to spousal abuse charges years later. He died of pneumonia in 2008, before the case could be resolved.

Weston Cage has a long history of problems, both big and small. He was arrested twice for domestic violence against his then-wife Nikki Williams in 2011. That same year, he got into an argument with his personal trainer about what he could and couldn't eat. He allegedly attempted to kick the trainer, only to be severely beaten in return. Though Weston appeared to be on the mend after a stint in rehab, the start of a new relationship, and the birth of his son, he was arrested for a hit-and-run and issued a DUI in 2017.

If you were to look up the word “controversial” or “troubled” in the Hollywood dictionary, you’d likely find a picture of Charlie Sheen. Son of famous actor Martin, Charlie is a successful actor in his own right. He starred in one of the biggest T.V. comedy hits ever - “Two and a Half Men.” Unfortunately, he is equally well known for his drug abuse, sexcapades and his tendency to make absurd statements.

This action movie icon is a cultural phenomenon in both the United States and his native Hong Kong, but his son isn't exactly a "chip off the old block." Jaycee Chan, who was born in 1982, is a singer and actor. However, in 2014, he was arrested as part of a drug bust. Authorities discovered more than 3 ounces of marijuana in his apartment. He was found guilty but was only sentenced to 6 months in prison.

Michael Douglas has won two Academy Awards and four Golden Globes. Cameron, on the other hand, has three drug arrests and is serving a 5-year prison sentence. The famous actor's son was caught selling methamphetamine from a high-end hotel in Manhattan, and he received a 5-year prison sentence for it. But the story doesn't end there: Cameron repeatedly broke prison rules by having his lawyer smuggle drugs to him while he was incarcerated. As a result, his sentence was increased. Douglas was released early from prison after serving 7 years, two of which were spent in solitary confinement.

Chet Hanks, the son of legendary American actor Tom Hanks, has always seemed to be the black sheep of his family, but his drug-related run-in with the law (and another car) confirmed this. He rear-ended a man in California while intoxicated in 2015. He checked himself into rehab not long after that incident. Tom and his wife Rita were named as co-defendants in the case because the car was registered in their names and they were allegedly aware of their son's difficulties.

If you had to choose a song from this legendary soul singer's catalog to describe his daughter Venisha Brown's behavior, it would have to be "Super Bad." Brown was working at St. Stephens Ministry of Augusta, Inc. in 2012 when she allegedly stole an SUV. When her boss saw her in the vehicle at an intersection the next day, they got into an argument, and Venisha allegedly sped away, dragging her boss over the hood of a parked car in the process.

Montana Fishburne chose to follow in her father's footsteps and work in the film industry. However, she chose to do so in a pornographic manner. When asked about her decision, she stated that she wanted to emulate Kim Kardashian by using the film as a springboard for her career. Embarrassed and understandably concerned about his adolescent daughter, Laurence allegedly hired a private investigator to monitor her, while Montana allegedly staged a suicide attempt in retaliation. While she's mostly stayed under the radar since making the tape in the early 2010s, she was pulled over and charged with DUI in 2017.
#9 Farrah Fawcett & Ryan O'Neal

Despite the fact that his parents were both famous actors, or perhaps because of it, Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O'Neal's son Redmond has struggled for the majority of his adult life. He was sentenced to three years in prison in July 2015 for violating his probation after it was discovered that he had been in possession of heroin and a weapon the previous year. He was arrested in 2008 and ended up violating his parole four times, according to reports. He was eventually released early in 2016 due to overcrowding and was given credit for 300 days served.

Living in the shadow of a successful father, especially one as famous as actor, musician, entrepreneur, wrestler, and all-around household name Hulk Hogan, can be difficult. After crashing into a tree, the Hulkster's son, Nick Hogan, was charged with reckless driving in 2007. His blood-alcohol level was found to be higher than the legal limit of 0.02%. Furthermore, he was a minor at the time. The worst part of the incident, however, is that his passenger was severely injured in the crash and will require constant care for the foreseeable future.
