Yes. Initially, David Michôd, the director of the series, had such great interests in the gangster world in Melbourne, Australia in the late 1980s. He began working on the script in the early 2000s. It is mainly based on the criminal Pettingill family, a powerful house in Melbourne’s underworld. They committed many crimes including drug, murder and shooting. The family members actually took part in two infamous cases which are the Melbourne gangland killings and Walsh Street police shootings. 

#3. Is It Worth Watching?

There is no answer for this question. It is totally up to your preference. If you are into the crime genre, it will be a perfect fit. There are a lot of drug trading, killing and violence happening in the whole 6 seasons. Anyways, it is among the most watched crime TV shows and has received good reviews for the plot and characters.

#4. Is Animal Kingdom Coming Back?

Yet to know if the series will return for the 7th season. The producers have confirmed that season 6 would be the last time you see the Cody family. Any future plan is not known or released. So, you should enjoy the last season of Animal Kingdom to the fullest right now.
