Cat Versus Dog Series: Dog Man Feels Offended Because His Furbaby Is Rejected Out Of A Friend's Party

It is an infinite "civil warfare" inside the animal lover community. Cat people often get addressed as over-thinking and excessive worrying about their pets while dog lovers are titled as ultimately entitled and self-centered. We have faith it is just stereotype trouble. However, on some occasions, the dog-versus-cat conflict takes place and worsens the human relationship. If you are curious, let's read the story below till the end to see what was going on!

The original poster was a cat man who posted his story on the salty subreddit r/AmItheA**hole with his account name u/PizzaInteraction. He prepared for a party and invited his friends to join in. One couple asked to come over with their pup, whom they promised to be a 40-pound obedient little boy. The OP was afraid that his two felines would be petrified by the dog. Therefore, he refused to let the canine in.

His friends suggested the OP should keep his cats safe and sound inside a lockage, but he insisted on rejecting the dog. As a result, they got angry and offended. The OP was blamed for being a dog hater and a doubting, which made him wonder if he mistook somewhere.

The comment section below the pinned story was full of displeased cat Redditors. They complained that dog people always expected the universe to love and allow their dogs to roam everywhere they wanted while the cat ones hardly did that. They weren't happy as those dog lovers kept explaining their pups were good guests and superstars who could light up the parties. They demanded the "canine army" should host a doggy-celebrating party themselves where they could bring as many woofing beasts as they wished and then leave non-dog people alone.

Other Redditors advised the OP to withdraw these dog guys' invitations since they appeared to have an urge to bring their pup along no matter what. Plus, somebody shared their painful experiences on how frightened their kittens were when they trusted the dog owners and let those hyperactively loving-to-bark monsters meet their furbabies. One thing that made them regret most was their felines no longer felt comfortable and protected in their houses.

Meanwhile, the dog Redditors reckoned that the OP's friends had discredited the decent dog people. They pointed out that whichever kind of pets people owned, they had to respect others' choices and not because they were connected to animals to discover new emotional bonds that they assumed to be superior to those who weren't.
