The original poster (user account name u/Grognac_the_Red) wrote her bewilderment on the popular subreddit r/AmItheA**hole. She revealed her friend's pet dog had been weaker little by little. Nonetheless, the canine's owner denied the fact that her furball might not be able to recover. She had kept feeding her dog at home for two months when she vomited and could barely walk or eat.

One day, the OP visited them and found their place filthily full of smelly wastes and projections. That was when she knew she needed to advise her buddy to let the dog go, which was rejected drastically afterward. The OP thought for a while and ended up calling the animal controlling department, who came to euthanize the dog the morning after due to her incurable condition. Then, the OP's friend had to meet the therapist, which she blamed on the OP.

Redditors firstly thanked the OP for making the right decision from a spot where she had to give up on her friendship to do it. They were grateful that even though she wasn't the dog's owner, she put her mind to releasing the poor animal from suffering while knowing she would get into trouble. Plus, they expected the therapy process to go well so the dog owner could realize she had a good buddy.

Furthermore, Reddit supposed that the lady should go to the therapist sooner. They reckoned that prolonging the pet's miserable life was unhumanitarian and selfish. Therefore, they came up with the idea that every pet owner had to agree to put the pet down in time when they registered for ownership.
