r/AmItheA**hole. It was written by a Golden Retriever lady with her Reddit account name
u/sharkdodododododo. Her stepdaughter, who was deeply scared of dogs, was visiting the original poster's house. Even though the husband (the girl's dad) ensured the OP it wouldn't be trouble, his girl almost lost her mind seeing the dog's hairs in her room. She was so petrified that they had to rent an Airbnb for her.

After that, the husband demanded to get rid of the dog. The Golden Retriever was genuinely treasured by the OP and their three other kids. Therefore, the OP found her stepdaughter dramatic and obnoxious. They had a big argument which provoked the girl's grandma and mother, who called the OP mean playing-favorites stepmom.

Provided that she followed the suggestion of neglecting her pup, the children cherishing him would fight and make the conflict even worse. They supposed it was nonsense and clueless to expect giving up on a family member would work.
