Getting Attacked By Two Dogs, Stray Cat Survives Against All Odds And Finds His Forever Home

A cat named Buddy was a "community cat”, who successfully survived after being supported by community and kindness.

Two teenagers walking their dogs approached Buddy on the porch and let them off the leash, allowing them to attack him.
Fortunately, the home security camera captured them returning shortly after and unleashing the dogs on Buddy, who was on the porch. Eventually, a man emerged from the house and saved the cat.
A few days later, two boys, 12 and 17, were detained as juveniles on unresolved allegations of animal cruelty. The canines, owned by a member of one of the boys' families, are still in the Pennsylvania SPCA's (PSPCA) care.

Buddy the cat had to be taken to the hospital to battle for life

Buddy was then taken to the PSPCA for care before moving to the BluePearl emergency veterinary hospital for more urgent treatment. He was bleeding internally, unconscious, and in shock. His heart rate was about two times what it ought to be. His caregivers feared he might leave this world.

Donations totaling more than $130,000 were made to the Pennsylvania PSPCA

There was a deluge of questions regarding Buddy at the PSPCA. PSPCA created Buddy Fund, followed the gifts: toys, catnip, and cash to provide a hand. People were rooting for the little black cat not only from the Philadelphia region or even from the United States but also from as far away as Europe, Asia, and Australia.

Katie Venanzi, an emergency vet, hoped the cat would survive the attack, but the possibility looked low

She observed the cat growl at staff members of BluePearl Pet Hospital and swat his tail on the table as Venanzi responded to his multiple wounds.

After that, Buddy the cat started to get well on March 22nd and is now physically well

Buddy was a stray cat before the incident. Although the cat still has to absorb psychological trauma, his new owners try their best to assist him.

Dave, Venanzi's husband, knew how intimately his wife had linked with Buddy, so he came up with the idea to adopt the cat

Undoubtedly, there are lots of animal aficionados out there. However, there is something unique about how Buddy's narrative has been received by the public.
“I think everyone these days is looking for some hope to cling to, and Buddy gave it to people. He’s still giving it to people,” Kocher said. “Out of something pretty horrible can come so much good. Despite bad things happening, there is still so much good in the world.”
