Mark Parisi is a 59-year-old citizen who was born in New England. Back in the university, he had changed his major quite many times before staying focused on Graphic Art. Charles Schulz, Gary Larson, and MAD magazine used to be his inspirational examples of comic creators. Today, he finds everything fascinating, from pets to pop culture.
In 1987, “Off the Mask” was made by Parisi as his very first comic series, which now appears in over 100 newspapers and many magazines, greeting cards, T-shirts, etc. The strips cover good-hearted humor, visual gags, and jokes that somehow relate to our witty lives. The fact that his simple drawing style is mostly limited to less than three panels still makes his work as attractive as the four-panel ones. In 2013, he was nominated as the owner of “Best Newspaper Panel”, one honorable award from the National Cartoonists Society, and won the “Best Greeting Cards” award at the same time.
One of Mark Parisi’ works was used in the projects carried out by Paul Newman, ‘Weird AI’ Yankovic, and the Dixie Chicks, which he believes is his most worthy achievement so far. The artist has worked on other projects, “Garbage Pail Kids'' sketch cards and “The Truth About 5^th”, with Kim Tomsic. “Keeps me busy and I think being busy is important right about now.”
