Finnish Artist Creates 21 Dog Drawings That Will Give You A Smile
Meet Sofia Härö, a 35-year-old, self-taught artist who comes from Lapland, Finland. She has had a love for dogs and a passion for art since she was a little girl. So it's not surprising that the artist decided to combine these two and create the #30canines art challenge. Needless to say, the results are awesome!
"I'm originally from Lapland, Finland, so nature, wildlife and animals in general have always been very close to my heart. Even when I was a little girl, I used to take care of bugs and all small critters that lived on my family farm. Today, I'm living in Helsinki, but my upbringing can still be seen in my art," Sofia Härö introduced herself.
The artist shared that drawing 30 dogs in 30 days was a joy and a challenge. "All of the drawings are done by hand, in ink and markers. One drawing took around 2-4 hours to finish. Some are good, some are not, but that was the whole point of the challenge - to really push myself," she said.

When asked about her passion for drawing, she says: "I've always been creative and drawing (casually) since I was little. I started actively drawing a few years back as a New Year's resolution to myself. That resolution has led me to great things, like having several of my own art exhibitions and being able to work on very cool art projects and art orders from my customers."#2 Pit Bull

She also shares how she creates her drawings: "I've mainly been drawing with pencil and ink, but I'm always experimenting with my creativity and new mediums - even though my Instagram doesn't show it."#3 Lapponian Herder

When it comes to creating art, she says: "It is my happy place. It is a flow state where time just vanishes. Doing something like that is a great joy. The most difficult part of the creative process is when you keep creating things that don't fully resonate with yourself. It's nice to create pretty things, but it's amazing to create something that feels like it came from the soul."#4 The Boxer
