30 Funny Comics That Show An Odd Yet Adorable Friendship Between Heart And Brain
Don’t you think your heart and brain are powerful partners? Biologically, the two internal organs are truly important to the human body. While your heart pumps blood to every part of your body, your brain controls every process that regulates your body. Without such “devoted” duos, there would be none of us existing to live our lives as today. They’re even more fascinating after getting personified to become symbolic characters in varied comics series. No dare to lie! Your hearts and brains maintain a super special relationship! Let’s join us to explore their colorful imaginative world made up by Nick Seluk, one of the most beloved talented comic artists so far!
Nick Seluk lives in Novi, Michigan, the U.S.A with three children. He graduated from Northville High School and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Central Michigan University. In 2012, he made his first gag-a-day web-comic titled “The Awkward Yeti”, which follows the daily life of the blue yeti Lars. At first, it was self-published as a children’s book. As the artist got more attached to the character, he started making adult-oriented comics about Lars and publishing them in September. In 2014, he worked as a senior graphic designer and soon quit to move on with making web-comics alone.
Nick Seluki has created a few spin-off comics on the website of his ongoing brainchild – the Awkward Yeti. They involve “Heart and Brain”, a web-comic following the daily lives of the human-like heart and brain, and “Medical Tales Retold”, which repurposes real medical stories into comedic touching comics. In 2016, the artist launched a Kickstarter campaign for a card game based on his comics, named “OrganAttack”. It featured medical concepts in which players had to remove the organs of their opponents. It literally reached over $280.000 USD in its first week and closed on July 3.
Describing deeper the series “Heart and Brain”, it can be seen that the two main characters appear to have battles every day, though they’re not enemies. While Heart always ensures to live the fullest life, Brain shoulders all the responsibilities following a rational path. However, they never hesitate to make peace and come to work in harmony, obviously proving their pure friendship just as in real life. How adorable they are!
We’ve listed out 30 of the most popular comics on his platforms, which are now available on Amazon. Enjoy and have a nice day!
