#1. Keanu Reeves

In the third film of the Bill & Ted movie series, Keanu Reeves sacrificed his charming look to transform into an old man, Ted who is years older than him. According to the script, the characters time travel and they find themselves aged in one of the versions of their lives. Due to prosthetic makeup, Keanu became unrecognizable.

#2. Meryl Streep

Meryl Streep played Margaret Thatcher in the movie The Iron Lady, for which she was nominated for an Oscar. To match the periods of her life, the actress had to wear prosthetics which material is responsive. However, it couldn’t prevent her from acting.

#3. Chris Evans

In the movie Avengers: Endgame, Captain American, played by Christ Evans, went to the past and led a happy life. He became an old man. Marvel fans were really impressed with his physical transformation, they have seen him in many different looks and styles throughout the franchise. 

The makeup process took hours, and the actor even posted a photo in the middle of the process, looking pretty funny

#4. Tilda Swinton

Tilda Swinton was transformed into Madame D, an 84-year-old woman, by makeup experts for the enduring Wes Anderson film The Grand Budapest Hotel. Despite the help of several specialists, Swinton did an incredible job portraying the character who was years older than she was. She even picked up the proper technique for applying lipstick.

Mark Coulier, who did prosthetic makeup for the film, said, “She was very involved in the look of her makeup when we came to actually apply it on the day,”

#5. Bryan Cranston

In the movie Trumbo, Bryan Cranston played the main character of a blacklisted Hollywood writer who successfully outwits the system in the movie Trumbo. The movie's makeup artist, Kentaro Yano, succeeded in making the actor appear older and finished off Cranston's look with a bushy mustache from the 1970s.

The actor took on the role of the 89-year-old historical figure Artie Crawford for the movie The Last Rifleman, directed by Terry Loane. He wears a balding gray wig and matching eyebrows. For his role, he had to sit on the makeup chair for 2 hours but it was worth it.

The actor prepared his role in the movie The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, with the help of 56 people on the makeup team. The makeup process was very complicated. 

“We did very intense tests for 2 weeks before shooting and started off with every age and just did makeup after makeup,” said Greg Connor, a makeup creator that worked on the film. “The makeup had to work, or the film wouldn’t work.”

#8. Nicole Kidman

Nicole Kidman, regarded as one of the most stunning actresses in Hollywood, underwent a drastic transformation for her portrayal of Julia Edwards in the movie Top Of The Lake: China Girl. 

The actress looked different when wearing a bushy gray wig, freckles, huge fake teeth, and a makeup-free look. She said, “I hope people see a character I haven’t played before,”
