Cat Mom Got Migraines For Her Dog-Mom Soul Mate Was Overly Dramatic For Not Being Considered As Real Moms

"Pet parents" is a new word we use to facetiously address pet owners with a big love for their "furbabies". These cute labels make pet lovers feel proud of themselves a little more. However, not all the people in our social communities open-mindedly accept these titles. It may lead to a misunderstanding between "pet parents" and parents with real kids. That's what a rational cat mom with Reddit account name u/Brunch_with_dogs struggled to explain to her intimate who was extremely serious about being a dog mom.

On the subreddit r/AmItheA**hole, our OP detailed her friend Leila's case: They were a part of a group of seven pals since middle school. Except for Leila and the OP, they had already been married and had kids. It was getting harder and harder for the seven of them to hang out together as smoothly and flawlessly as they had before.

Leila had recently divorced because she and her husband hadn't shared the same intention for the future. Leila was a child-free want-to-be woman. She decided to adopt a puppy instead of remaining married and having a kid. The most difficult to deal with part was she always felt left out. Almost her friends had left her dog's birthday party. They didn't even invite her to their Mother's Day celebration party.

The OP had patiently explained to Leila that pet owners no matter how they took care of their animals would never be considered seriously true parents. Leila couldn't get that idea thus she stopped keeping in touch with the OP and began defaming her friends behind their back.

Reddit classified Leila to be one of the dramatically self-centered pet owners. The OP should leave her by herself because she had done a great job analyzing things for her. Leila was headstrong and stubborn when it came to kid-related incidents because it was her plight. The OP's trouble might not be solved by showing too many raw definitions and explanations but by comfort and soothing.

Others discussed how they found the term "pet parents" silly and stupid. Those people without real kids would never know what it was to be genuine parents. Spending money and time playing with cats or dogs and teaching them some small tricks could never compare to parenting and disciplining a child. If someone wanted to be child-free and carefree, it was their choice to respect but they did not have the right to call themselves real parents while being afraid of real parental duties.
