16 Superstars Who Has Been Banned From Other Countries

It may appear as though superstars always receive preferential treatment. But when a whole nation decides that they aren't welcome, all the wealth and renown in the world are nothing. For a variety of causes, the actors and artists on this list all found themselves eighty-six miles from their goals. Frequently, the prohibition is politically driven, especially in countries where stringent religious law is the law of the land. Sometimes the excessive conduct of the star is to blame.
The country's government occasionally has a problem with a celebrity's conviction for a crime. A platinum album or blockbuster film does not outweigh a police record when it comes to border security. Whatever the cause, it has typically forced the celebrity to quickly rearrange their trip arrangements and cancel public engagements.

He was denied entry to the U.K. in 2010 as a result of his arrest and conviction for assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna ahead of an awards event (he was given a five-year probationary term). This forced him to postpone his British tour.

2. Paris Hilton: Japan

When it comes to permitting those with criminal histories to enter the country, Japan has historically had severe rules. The hotel heiress and well-known party girl took a flight to Japan but was refused entrance a few days after she admitted to possessing cocaine in a courtroom in Los Angeles.

3. Brad Pitt: China

It turns out that occasionally accepting a script might result in your being denied entry into a nation. Brad Pitt starred in the 1997 movie Seven Years in Tibet, which is based on the actual story of an American who meets the Dalai Lama, and as a result, the Chinese government claims that Pitt is no longer permitted to enter the nation. Chinese officials said that the movie encourages Tibetan independence from China, rendering Pitt unable to hold public office.

4. Lily Allen: The U.S.

When British singer Lily Allen tried to enter the United States in 2007 but was denied a visa and sent back to her native country as a result of accusations she was facing there for allegedly assaulting a photographer, she was reportedly upset. Thankfully, things were resolved, and the next year she was permitted to return to the country.

5. Sacha Baron Cohen: Kazakhstan

Although audiences adored the British comedian's 2006 comedy Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan, the government of Kazakhstan did not find the anti-Semitic Kazakh journalist's exploits amusing. Instead, the government of Kazakhstan took issue with the character of Borat. They were so horribly insulted that they forbade Cohen from ever coming; but, after realizing how much the nation might gain from Borat-related tourism, they reversed their decision. Nicely done!

After images of Cyrus making a "slanted eye" motion went viral, Chinese authorities were upset because they believed the singer was making fun of Chinese residents. The former Hannah Montana actress will be denied entry if she ever tries to travel to China.

Imelda Marcos, the dictator's wife, had a tantrum over the airways and infuriated the populace after the band mistakenly ignored her when they performed in The Philippines back in 1966. As a result of the ruckus, the Fab Four had to physically flee the nation for their lives. The Beatles were ultimately barred from entering the Philippines, which, according to reports, pleased the band, who promised never to do it again.

Unbelievable news: In 2012, rapper S-to-the-N-to-the-double-O-to-the-P attempted to smuggle marijuana into Norway and was unsuccessful. For two years, Snoop was not permitted to enter the nation.

Some nations are very delicate. We're sure the former 30 Rock actor never imagined he'd be barred from the nation for merely making a joke about Filipino mail-order brides to David Letterman on the Late Show, but that's exactly what happened.

10. Martha Stewart: The U.K.

The domestic diva was denied entry to Britain in 2008 as a result of her five-month prison term for insider trading. British border agents take seriously offenses they perceive to be severe.

American actors have a long history of being denied entry into China (Brad Pitt was already stated, but Richard Gere was also denied entry since he is a devout Buddhist and close friend of the Dalai Lama). Due to his open support for Tibet, the former Han Solo has also been expelled from China.

12. The Rolling Stones: Japan

The Stones attempted to enter Japan in 1973 but were denied entry owing to frontman Mick Jagger's two past drug convictions, one from 1967 and the other from 1970. However, time was on their side, and they eventually received permission to enter Japan.

13. Busta Rhymes: The U.K.

In 2008, the veteran hip-hop artist's visa was stopped and he nearly didn't get to enter the UK because of "unresolved convictions" in the US; he had pleaded guilty to assault and drunk driving. Rhymes was detained for 12 hours before being released so he could perform.

14. Lady Gaga: Indonesia

Lady Gaga was formerly involved in an unhappy relationship with Indonesian Islamic hardliners who thought her provocative musical performances and attractive attire would corrupt the young of the country. While Mother Monster wasn't officially prohibited from entering Indonesia, she was unable to get the necessary permissions for her planned trip and was forced to postpone a sold-out performance in Jakarta.

15. Akon: Sri Lanka

The 2009 music video for the R&B musician Akon's song "Sexy Chick" caused violent demonstrations across the nation since it showed a pool party full of scantily dressed ladies with a Buddha statue plainly visible in the backdrop. Akon was thus refused entrance to Sri Lanka.

Russell Brand, a former heroin addict, still struggles with his drug conviction, which prevented him from entering Japan in 2011 to watch his then-wife Katy Perry play there. Brand was similarly refused admission to Canada the same year, adding insult to injury.
