A man who had his account deleted had shared his deep-in-heart secret on a Reddit topic named TrueOffMyChest and told people what he had done to his wife and her cat.

Back when they were still boy and girlfriend, she adopted an all-black short-haired cat who was extremely aggressive. Despite the cat's violent behaviors, she insisted on keeping him and making him act better. He didn't find the cat loveable and wanted to cast him away. One day the girl came back to her hometown, so she asked her boyfriend to come over and take after her combative furry little pal.

The first time he was with the cat, his arm got scratched, so he got angry. The next day he went to the local animal shelter to look for a lookalike moggie and found one who was better trained and less rebellious. On the other hand, the new one was skittish, which made him hard to differentiate from the original one.
After taking the new cat back to his girlfriend's apartment, he drove the first cat to another town's animal shelter so that she couldn't find him. The girl came home not knowing anything or recognizing an abnormal sign. Two years passed by and they got married. People in the comment section below the OP's post were really infuriated. Firstly, they didn't like the idea of the husband swapping the wife's cat behind her back. They expected couples should be honest with each other. He should have a discussion with her. Secondly, they thought it was him who was "skittish" and made fun of his explanation.

Some people worried that the early cat could be euthanized, but the OP said he'd taken the cat to a no-kill shelter. Anyway, it seemed like nobody would forgive his/her spouse if he/she did the same thing as him.
