Dog Owners Let Their Puppy Run Wild, But They Blame Neighbor When The Pup Gets Into Food Coloring

People tend to blame someone else instead of accepting responsibility. The reason why they usually blame others is that it’s a quick escape from guilt.
A Reddit user (OP) who goes by the name u/CaffeineFueledLife shared that she was criticized by her neighbors for letting their puppy get into food coloring. Feeling that she was not wrong, so she went on Reddit to ask for everyone's opinions. Scroll down to know the details of the story.
Taking to the subreddit r/AmItheAsshole, she asked "AITA for Dying the Neighbor's Puppies Paws Blue?" As it turned out, the woman and her son made a volcano and they added blue food coloring to create blue lava. Unfortunately, the neighbor's dog stepped in the blue lave even though the mom tried to keep picking him up to steer him away from the volcano.

His paws turned blue color, so the mom went over and told the neighbors that it was just food coloring so they wouldn't worry. However, they went mad and blamed the woman and her son for letting their pup get into the lava. They said OP should have moved the volcano to the back yard or waited until the puppy wasn't running around.
The mom didn't think it was her responsibility to watch the dog. "I don't think it's my responsibility to make sure their puppy doesn't end up with blue paws. I mean, he's cute as hell and not a dangerous dog, but they still should probably keep him on a leash or something. I haven't seen him run out in the road, but he could and that would be much worse than blue paws that won't stay blue permanently."

For this reason, she decided to ask everyone on Reddit if she was an a**hole for not taking more care to keep the puppy out of the lava.
Hard no, Reddit quickly responded. Most of them sided with OP and called the neighbors out for being irresponsible. They let their pup without a leash run onto OP's property, so they have to take responsibility for the pup's safety.
