Japanese Artist Recreates Tom And Jerry’s Most Unfortunate Moments Into Hilarious Sculptures

Tom and Jerry is an animated television series and a series of short films developed by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera in 1940. Hanna and Barbera created 114 Tom and Jerry shorts for MGM between 1940 and 1958. Tom and Jerry then became the most popular animated short film series of that time. Taku Inoue spends his spare time sculpting Tom and Jerry:
“A lot of people have seen (my sculptures) and I’m very surprised. Tom and Jerry had a big impact on my childhood, it’s influential to my creative work,” Inoue said in an interview.
For a variety of reasons, Hanna and Barbera's animation style has become famous. Their distinct aesthetic defied the standards of animation at the time, paving the door for more enjoyable cartoon Entertainment. Tom's particularly perplexing forms stayed with Inoue, who eventually attempted to imitate them through sculpture.
