Don't Feed Other People's Dogs Without Asking Permission First, Reddit Discussion

If you are a dog lover, your desire to pet, play with, and care for any dogs you encounter is understandable. Regardless of the reasoning, though, interacting with a stranger's dog without asking their permission is not always the best move. To know the reason why, scroll down to read this post!
A Reddit user u/Brief-Lifeguard-8927 recently brought up an important discussion about asking dog owners before feeding their dogs. In the popular subreddit r/dogs, OP posted: "Don't feed other people's dogs without asking permission first."

The title pretty much says it all, and OP then explained why he claimed it. "You don't know what their dietary requirements or training is like. You might think it's cute - but you don't know the potential trouble you could be causing the dog, the owner, or yourself."
Most of Redditors agree with OP as it's just a basic courtesy. They also encourage people to follow this simple courtesy.

The honest truth is, no one understands a dog better than its owner. You never know how the animal will respond to the food you give for it! However, if you see a dog that you think may be hungry and can’t get in touch with the owner, you can call animal shelters or veterinarian’s office for advice before feeding the animal.
