Being confident is good since it allows you to get into places and stand your ground, but there is such a thing as overconfidence. We've all been there: speaking confidently on a subject about which we don't have adequate knowledge, or making fun of people while in error. It's best not to say anything if you're not an expert in a certain sector or if you're not sure you understand what you're talking about.
Of course, nobody loves arrogant individuals, and arrogant people who don't know what they're talking about are much worse.
