Is Netflix Greenlighting An Ozark Spinoff Series?

Netflix’s hit crime drama Ozark airs its finale last week. But it’s far from the last time we see any characters from Ozark. It has been announced that Netflix is considering developing a spinoff series!
Following the Ozark finale, showrunner Chris Mundy discussed the series' conclusion and what may come next. Emphasis on the maybe. During an interview with TV Line, Ozark's showrunner shared this fantastic information:
“It’s definitely something that people have talked about a bunch. There’s nothing definitive. We’re lucky that people seem to really like the show, so there’s obviously going to be some interest there.”

Currently scoring 82% on Rotten Tomatoes, Ozark is not only popular with fans, but also with critics. And both have stated their demands, so the possibility for another series set in the same universe as the blockbuster Netflix program is a lot closer than you think.
If Netflix decides to make an Ozark spinoff, it will be interesting to see which characters from its parent show will appear in it.

However, there is one character that we know will not return to the spinoff. Fan-favorite Ruth Langmore, played by Emmy-winning breakthrough Julia Garner, was killed off in Ozark's finale.
Ruth spinoff series had been heavily requested by fans, but her death rules this out.
"There are still ways to stay within the show and revisit topics," Mundy said. "I'm sure people would have been happy if Ruth had been present."
Are you excited to watch this Ozark spinoff series on Netflix, even without Ruth?
