The suspect certainly isn't a clumsy, disabled, frail criminal known only as Verbal Kint, who can't even look the investigator in the eye during questioning. That's right, I forgot. As a result of his sleight of hand, Kevin Spacey won an Oscar, and the plot twist in The Usual Suspects is largely regarded as the best in contemporary neo-noir.

4. Fight Club

Many say that David Fincher's 1999 postmodern masterpiece about the dangers of materialism and the feminization of the American man has shocked and horrified viewers more than any other film in the previous 25 years.
Ed Norton plays the narrator who encounters the macho Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt), who wants to destroy the world so that he may rebuild it from scratch. In a shocking turn of events (which you probably should have seen coming), we learn that the narrator truly has dissociative identity disorder. Identical to Tyler, he is nevertheless a separate individual. After his mind is broken, the movie's narrator shoots himself to kill Tyler.

5. Primal Fear

Could anyone's first film role top Ed Norton's performance as Aaron in the 1996 courtroom drama Primal Fear? Aaron managed to deceive everyone, including a judge, into believing that the evil half of his schizophrenic personality, a thug named Roy, was responsible for the archbishop's murder. When Aaron tells his lawyer (Richard Gere) that Roy doesn't exist, viewers are hit with the WTF moment.

This is a ghost story in the purest sense. Due to a rare condition, Grace's (Nicole Kidman) offspring can't be exposed to even the slightest amount of sunlight. Therefore, she must protect them by all means. In addition, Grace experiences horrible migraine headaches. It's dark and chilly in their mansion. Grace is quite stringent when it comes to the rules of the home. Grace and her two children are all ghosts; it turns out that Grace murdered her children in a fit of madness and then took her own life.
