A few celebrity assaults involved people the celebrities knew. In still others, killers had planned their attacks for monetary gain.
There have been reports of attempted murder by people with celebrity fixations who are mentally disturbed. Many famous people, including John Lennon and Marvin Gaye, were killed in assaults, but the people on this list are the ones who either survived an attempt on their lives or narrowly avoided being killed.
