7 Actors You Didn't Know Were Really High On Set

Many things cause people to get high. Some people try to hide their feelings, others like to party, and others are bored. Even well-known people are the same. Actors who smoked on set did it for different reasons, but one thing they all have in common is that they don't feel bad about it. Even though drug use is often seen as something to be ashamed of, the actors on this list who were high on set are very honest about what they did.
Most of them know it's probably not what they should have been doing while working, but they're not wringing their hands over it. People expect them to act like this because they are famous movie stars.

1. Matthew Perry

Even though Matthew Perry has been quite forthright about his drug usage during the '90s, the idea that he doesn't recall some of the greatest moments from Friends is still mind-boggling. He told Larry King he relied heavily on Vicodin throughout the middle of the '90s "mainly just not to drink as much as I was." YIKES! After reading that, I can see why he forgot about the second half of the season of his famous program.

2. Josh Duhamel

Josh Duhamel, who played hard-partying Bill "Spaceman" Lee in a biopic released in 2016, didn't realize he would be smoking a joint in one of the sequences. "The reality is that I rolled a joint on the very first take of the film. No one warned me that it was actual cannabis, yet normally they produce fake weed. So I smoked it, and then was high for hours when I shouldn't have been."

3. Carrie Fisher

Although it saddens some people to think that Princess Leia was high while rescuing the galaxy, it is quite understandable that a star like Carrie Fisher, who has been very open about her previous drug use, would feel the urge to get high while acting in the largest film series ever. What did she say? "On the Empire set, on the frozen planet, we used cocaine. Coke wasn't even a favorite of mine. Getting high was as simple as boarding the appropriate train."

4. Eminem

The fact that Eminem, who once rapped "I gone to the mushroom mountain once or twice but who's counting/But nothing compares to these blue and yellow purple pills," was high on the set of his movie in which he played himself is perhaps not surprising. An interview with Rolling Stone claims that he was using Ambien during filming "We were working 16-hour days, and there was a time limit on when you could nap. I was given Ambien once, and it completely put me out. I immediately thought, "I require this constantly." I decided to fill a prescription. Tolerance increases after around four to five months. You begin cutting the pill into smaller pieces in preparation for tomorrow."

5. Shia LaBeouf

The one movie you make with Shia LeBeouf, which turns out to be a horrible catastrophe because your extremely famous co-star is on a load of LSD throughout production, makes you feel like the third wheel of the Harry Potter fandom motorbike (was there a wizard cycle?).
According to Grint, LeBeouf "destroyed the place, stripped down to nothing, and saw an owl repeatedly. Seeing anything like that is enough to deter anyone from doing drugs." Ignore the owl! No, thank you!

6. Robert Downey Jr.

Robert Downey Jr. has a long history of acting while under the influence of drugs and alcohol. Still, he claims that he didn't start getting high on set until he portrayed a junkie/future version of himself, Julian, in 1987's Less Than Zero. He told Trendingbiz, "Before watching the film, I would only take my medication at night or on the weekend. Perhaps I might show up to set hungover, but not more so than the stuntman.
Everything shifted on Less Than Zero. Playing a junkie f*ggot was like seeing a glimpse of a brighter future. The persona was a caricature of myself. Suddenly something shifted, and I started to take on some of the character's more extreme traits. That went on far longer than it should have."

7. Michael Rapaport

Remember that time in True Romance when Christian Slater and Bronson Pinchot were on a roller coaster, and they made a drug deal? Michael Rappaport was there, and he was stoned out of his mind.
Rapaport claims that "Roller coasters aren't my thing. They made me ride it against my will, and I became sick, so we had to do the scene a week later. When I went back a second time, I was drugged. There are photos of me laughing and smiling because I was so high, and another in which I was weeping because I believed I would throw up."
