7 Actors Who Demanded Script Changes And Made Their Movies Iconic

The writing of a movie's screenplay is often the responsibility of the crew working behind the scenes, although occasionally the performers in front of the camera will weigh in. In fact, some performers are so enthused by the screenplay plot that they want to participate and add their own adjustments. This is especially true when they’re high-profile actors.
These actors have the power to influence the creative process during the filmmaking process, despite the perception that producers and directors always have the ultimate word. It might be anything as small as a clothing choice, or an actor can be having issues with the storyline of their character. When they do speak out, they frequently won't back down until the creative team complies with their suggestion. Naturally, this only truly occurs after a performer achieves stardom.a

The filmmaker first considered stars like Clint Eastwood and Harrison Ford for the part since the character of John Wick was originally imagined as a 75-year-old man. But after meeting Keanu Reeves, he was sure that Reeves was the ideal choice for the role. Even after that, Reeves continued to work on the script, helping to develop the character into a middle-aged John Wick.

Hackman was chosen by director Richard Donner to play the notorious antagonist Lex Luthor in the 1978 film Superman. Hackman resisted shaving his head or donning a bald helmet despite the character being portrayed as a bald adversary in comics for decades.
The filmmaker had Gene Hackman fix his hair to make it appear as though he was wearing a wig in order to solve this continuity problem. Only towards the conclusion of the film, as he is being led away to prison, do we glimpse Lex Luthor's bald head.

She refused to cut and color her hair red as the film's producers requested. She had recently grown her hair back after deciding that she didn't like the color red. Tracy Nelson was chosen to fill the post in the end.
Afterward, the producers had a change of heart and saw that Rusty's hair color was irrelevant. Sarah received a call from the filming location asking her to join them in Utah. She consented to go, but she refused to cut or color her hair red. They handed her the part and said it was acceptable.

She was afraid that if she didn't drop the weight, she would lose her job, but she showed up on set at the same weight that they had recruited her at. Fisher rose to fame as Leia due to the film's enormous popularity.

They said, "Alright, excellent. So here's what you need to do: Reduce your exercise routine. You must reduce your weight. You cannot identify as "The Rock." Talking about wrestling is prohibited. There it was. After that, I made the decision that I would not follow Hollywood's standards. Hollywood would adapt to my needs.
