Redditors Side With Father Who Gets Puppy For Son Even Though His Ex-Wife Has A Fear Of Dogs
Have you heard the term Cynophobia yet? It is the overwhelming fear of dogs. People with a fear of dogs feel anxiety when they think about, see or encounter a dog. We feel sorry for people who have this anxiety disorder. But for people who use their irrational fear of dogs to control others and impact their lives, they deserve to be chastised. And the woman in this post is one of them.
Reddit thread today features a considerate father throwawayaccount_sp, his new adopted puppy, his beloved son, and his ex-wife/ co-parent who has a fear of dogs. He and his ex-wife split up when their son was 3 years old. They don't live together, but they have always co-parented and shared equal time with their son.
"My son and I went to two local shelters this weekend just to look around. I didn’t mention it to my ex because I knew what her reaction would be. On our second trip, we ended up falling in love with and adopting a Blue Heeler mix puppy. My son adores him, and I think he’ll be a great companion to grow up with."
After reading his post, Redditors agreed that the man was not the a**hole and pointed out that his ex couldn't dictate what he does in his own house. They also applauded the man for standing his ground and giving his son a great companion.
