Woman Gets Gaslighted By Her Sister-In-Law After Refusing To Sell Her Dog To Her

A pregnant woman took to Reddit to share her disturbing situation in which her sister-in-law gaslighted her because she refused to sell her dog to her. Needless to say, it’s sparked a fierce discussion on Reddit’s Am I The A**hole forum. Here’s how it all boils down, according to the woman.

The woman u/YenYenMania shares that her sister-in-law who is not able to have children of her own and just lost her dog of 16 years, attempts to convince her and her husband to sell their dog. She showed the manipulative way her SIL attempted to swindle them of their doggo. "My SIL is distraught saying she needs the dog more than we do. We have a baby on the way and will be too busy for the dog. SIL had the dog no less than 5 hours. Spamming us with photos how well she was "adapting" to her house. And asked if she could buy our dog from us."

The couple understood their SIL had a tough time lately, but that is not an excuse to take a perfectly happy doggo from his or her family for her own selfish reasons. It just makes her look like a total a-hole. If she wants a dog, she can go to animal shelters to adopt one. There are tons of doggos in need of homes waiting for her, why not adopt one of them? This SIL even decides that she needs the dog more than OP.

Here are some pictures of the OP's suggies and puppy!

Now, the Reddit user is questioning herself. “Am I being an asshole here?” she asked. She added, "My SIL can't have kids. Dogs are her life. But I absolutely love my dog and I don't want to part with her. But SIL is making me feel really guilty about having kids and a dog."

Here's how people reacted to her situation:

We know that this SIL is hurting after the loss of her dog, but she should cope with this loss in much healthier ways instead of trying to buy her brother and SIL's well-loved, happy dog.
