15 Talented Yet Underrated Actors Who Deserve More Recognition

Tom Cruise or Leonardo DiCaprio has dominated the Entertainment industry and gained the most glorious movie awards. Then they spread through all the news so we’ve focused mainly on legends and younger actors who make their first steps into the movie world. But there are some actors who are well-known but gain nothing from it such as Dylan O’Brien or Aubrey Plaza. It may be explained by their bad acting skills or a poorly written character.
There is nothing to say if they are really bad at acting. But if it comes to a film script, we need to analyze what they have done in a movie to see. In fact, many actors/actresses just don’t get the right roles in the film. It proves that talent and a good attitude at work don’t mean a certain success. Robert Pattinson started his film career by playing Cedric Diggory in the Harry Potters series. I’ve enjoyed many other roles that Robert Pattinson has done. Kristen Stewart has gotten some good reviews for a few films, and bad reviews for others. Although her performance in Twilight was rough, it’s mainly due to the poorly written character than his acting. She is still a highly creative and imaginative actress.

2. Dylan O’Brien

Hayden Christensen walked into Star Wars as a rising actor. He did well in Life as a House and other several movies, then showed further acting chops with Shattered Glass. His appearance is also his big advantage. And he is smart enough to recognize and pick roles that play to his strength such as 21 Jump Street. He’s handsome, not afraid to be goofy or poke fun at himself. Don’t look down on the importance of that, this made him stunt people.
Movies you should watch: The Hateful Eight, Foxcatcher, Magic Mike, and 21 Jump Street.

7. Dave Chappelle

Comedy engages Dave's fans in him and he knows it well. But fame, which he always has difficulty with, obscures that he feels it isn’t worth it. But Dave doesn’t give up because he is crazy. We love to see him more in drama senses because he needs this to show he can be one of the best. And if you need any convincing, you may need to see him in A Star Is Born. His performance certainly makes you feel at home.

Jennifer Lopez has a beautiful voice that attracts every single music fan. But Lopez showed her promise early in her cinema career (especially in 1998’s Out of Sight) and then became a superstar in Hollywood. She also shows her talent in acting like the way she conquers the music field. I just wish to watch more of her dramatic and comedy roles.
Movies you should watch her in: Selena, Saturday Night Live, Hustlers.

10. Shia LaBeouf

He’s certainly starred in some pretty good movies like Transformers, but he seems to take his characters very seriously in any movie he’s in. And Shia has played a wide range of characters as well, so I’d say he’s a talented actor.
Shia also writes his own movie and in real life, he is the so-called American honey.

Maybe ABC Family’s soap opera doesn’t help her get the recognition she deserved. She can show her talent through some really heartbreaking scenes that change your mind if you don’t like her. Let’s watch The Descendants, you may find how she deals with an embarrassing script.
Shai used to be the “most popular” kid in school, and she always reacts to the abnormal change in the film so quickly and amazingly.
Movies you should watch: Big Little Lies, The Spectacular Now, The Descendants.

When directors talk about her, they rave about her and put her into comparison with two names: Lucille Ball and Meryl Streep. I think people don’t give her enough recognition she deserves. If you don’t believe, let’s check out Support the Girls where she brings so much humanity into that role and helps the film with a brand of genuine sincerity. She has also strength in comedy senses. It spread an impact on the humor style these days.

Zac is a damn good one. His comedy is the biggest advantage. Each funny scene he takes a role in can be absolutely hilarious. His negative reactions throughout the film are totally priceless. That’s why his talent is highlighted by shifting from comedy to drama.
Movies you should watch: Shockingly Evil and Vile, Hairspray, Extremely Wicked, and The Paperboy.

14. Lindsay Lohan

Source: Universal Pictures

Ignoring her noise from the news, no one can deny her talent. She has a niche in her style and a big potential to be a superstar. It’s just a pity that “reputation” takes her away from a better career for her personal life.
You should see her in Prairie Home Companion, Mean Girls, Bobb, and The Parent Trap.

15. Drew Barrymore

Source: Dimension Films

She is a star on the Youtube show "Hot Ones" with Sean Evans. To me, she’s the gold standard for the roles she's in. Drew’s acting familiars to something “real life”. She can also shift from drama to comedy smoothly if you know First Dates.
You should watch her in: Irreconcilable Differences, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Scream, and Grey Gardens.
