Heartbreaking Moment Dog Abandoned In Empty Parking Lot With Only Her Bed For Comfort

Dogs are our best friends and it is heart-breaking to see them abandoned. Without human care, they would be faced with a world in which they would have to completely fend for themselves to survive.
Meet Bluebelle, a 9-year-old female Pit Bull who was dumped in an empty parking lot in Austin, Texas. Her owners left her behind with nothing but her bed for comfort. She sat patiently on the bed and waited for someone to notice her.

Thankfully, someone found her and called the Austin Animal Center for help. When the animal protection officers arrived at the parking lot, Bluebelle looked up at them with sweet, sad eyes, and gratefully accepted treats from their hands.

“It is difficult to explain how grateful Bluebelle is to have been rescued and taken to the shelter,” explains Stephanie McCutcheon, coordinator of marketing and volunteers at the Austin Animal Center. Bluebelle drank a lot of water upon arrival at the shelter and slept a lot in the air-conditioned comfort of her bed the first couple days."
The staff said that Bluebelle suffered from conjunctivitis in both eyes and was missing fur and raw due to demodex mange. But she is now getting the care she needs at the Austin Animal Center. Despite her health problems, she doesn't let all that get her down and stop her from enjoying her life.

“Besides all the health issues, she is in happy spirits,” McCutcheon said. “She has the cutest little smile and even a little pep in her step. We have wonderful Animal Care staff and Vets that have been taking close care of her.”
We are happy to know that Bluebelle has a foster mom who is willing to take her in. Once she recovers, she will move into her forever family who will love her for the rest of her life.

“Despite looking in rough shape, her heart is still full and she is extremely welcoming of humans,” McCutcheon said. “She recently had a meet-and-greet with a foster family and their dog, and it went well so Bluebelle will be leaving the shelter soon!”
