A Fair-Haired Race With Blue Eyes Built The Prehistoric Metropolis Of Ipiutak, Not Humans

Ipiutak, situated at Point Hope, Alaska, was once a flourishing metropolis for people to reside, merchandise and conduct strange rituals. Until now, the city only sees prehistoric remnants and relics, yet still holds remarkable importance in terms of archaeology and history.
Researchers believe that uncovering the enigma surrounding Ipiutak can help grant important insights into a culture that disappeared and the very first residents of North America.
Regrettably, this seems challenging because of inconsistent source related to this prehistoric metropolis, roughly calculated to be around 2,000 years old. However, the civilization completely disappeared around 800 CE, causing researchers to work hard to find out its founder and the time it was built.
Scientists note that Ipiutak constructors were had much more advanced technologies than the Eskimo, leading to them questioning their identity, origin and what really happened to them. In fact, the site was found in archaeological digs between 1939 and 1940, dubbed the biggest location of its kind in the Eskimo region.
The sea wrecked some of the buildings, luckily there are sufficient remnants left for archaeologists to inspect. The prehistoric metropolis was planned on a grid pattern, whose architecture remind us of the prehistoric cities of the Indus Valley. 600 forsaken buildings, 1,000 strange relics and a large burial site raising questions about true residents of Ipiutak have been found.

Scientists have discovered about 600 abandoned houses, one thousand unusual artifacts, and a huge cemetery that raises many interesting questions about the true inhabitants of Ipiutak.

Ipiutak Was Built By A Fair-Haired and Blue Eyed Race – The Eskimos Say

The Ipiutak are well-known for sophisticated and decorative carvings and sculpture from ivory, wood, bone and stone relics. Phil Mcgillivray of the U.S. Coast Guard once said, “The complex and unusual nature of the carved ivory material found at Ipiutak immediately confirms the material as unique. Ipiutak specimens show artistic patterns distinct from those of related cultures.”
There is a dispute among experts in terms of determining the true founders of Iputak, whereas some believe that Eskimos built the city, others disagreed. Eskimos myths speak of a fair-haired and blue-eyed race that erected the ancient city of Ipiurak, living there until the War of the Gods broke out.
Who could the legends of the Eskimo refer to? Was Ipiutak once a Viking settlement, perhaps?

Inhabitants Of Ipiutak Were Not Primitive

A number of experts who conducted excavation at the site, including Rainey Froelich, believe that Ipiutak was possibly constructed by humans of Asian origin. He said, “Although this culture precedes known types of Eskimo culture on the Arctic coast, it is not primitive and it diverges so widely from familiar Eskimo patterns that I am led to believe its origin will be found outside the Arctic regions, probably in eastern Asia.”
Over 5,000 burials have been found at Ipiutak, some of which indicated that this culture did conduct strange ceremonies, yet they still hold great knowledge in terms of advanced technology and science. Samples taken from Ipiutak burials date back around 350 AD, between 100 and 1000 AD.
Prehistoric skulls with man-made eyeballs of ivory inlaid with jet were discovered within the burials. Ivory nose plugs shaped like bird heads were found in some bodies, while there were death masks equipped on others.

Small mummified animals having eyes inlaid with obsidian were also found in several tombs. The discovery suggests that the people residing in Ipiutak possibly carried out shamanism, with some researchers indicate that this is similar to Ukraine’s Scthyo-Siberian cultures.
Truth is, Ipitak wasn’t a small settlement at all. Froelich once regarded the city as “a settlement with a population of several thousand, which must have been larger than the modern city of Fairbanks of Alaska.”
Priceless traces have been left behind by the prehistoric residents of Ipiutak, yet the initial founders remain mysterious. Maybe the prehistoric metropolis was actually erected by a fair-haired race with blue eyes, true to the claims of the Eskimos, or perhaps they were of Asian or Siberian origin.
Some think they could be related to the Dorset culture, but these are only speculations, and we must confess that Ipiutak is still remains shrouded in mystery.
